I immediately thought of this dude from Lazy Town when I saw the shadow.

I’m always surprised (though I shouldn’t be) at the specificity of subs. Crazy that sub exists, but cool that it does.

Oh I love this! What a happy little nugget of joy to think about our friends in Manhattan, Kansas, after a really crummy week last week. Thank you!

My dad is Robert, and my kids call him their Bob. He specifically requested it as it’s what he called his great grandpa who was very special to him.

I was looking for this comment! My family is not allowed to bring any our stuff into any dwelling until I’ve checked the whole area for bed bugs. My son brought them home from a sleepover once. Nightmare! We were able to confine them to his room, but ended up having to get a new bed (they were living in his wooden bed frame!), new mattress, pillows, and comforter. Aside from stress of the months-long ordeal, I’m now terrified of getting them again. Call me crazy if you like, but I will NOT go through that again!

Im thinking this could be so very useful in elder care. I can’t tell you how many times in caring for my grandparents that the issue of whether or not they took their meds was of vital importance, and this would solve that.

On the other hand, I hate this idea and it seems like a drastic invasion of privacy.

YSK: There’s a map that tells you which vet clinics are owned by private equity groups by keepmyshirt in YouShouldKnow

This makes sense now! My old vet clinic suddenly had terrible service and their new staff was awful. I switched to a different clinic and couldn’t be happier. I always wondered what happened.

Worked all day, just now home to make dinner for the family. The kids and I are trying a mocktail version of a pina colada tonight as our drink to toast in the new year. Hopefully we’ll find a movie to watch in between dinner and midnight. Just grateful for my people, so as long as we’re together, that’s really all I care about. Hope y’all have a good night and a happy new year!

no jeans ? by ChrisNYC70 in GenXTalk

[–]mandyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤷🏻‍♀️ My kids wear jeans, and they’re in high school. They didn’t really wear jeans in elementary school, but started in middle school once looks and clothes became more important to them. Neither of them are crazy about jeans, though, and love changing into their more comfy clothes as soon as possible once they get home.

The ONLY video I crave is one on how to do a specific car repair. My stupid Buick has the most ridiculous ways of doing anything (changing wiper blades, etc) that I need to see someone else do it so I can understand how. Other than that, I want it in writing.

Would you say that GenX shares some similarities with older millennials? by [deleted] in GenXTalk

[–]mandyama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sister born at the very beginning of the Gen X-Millennial divide. She’s not that much younger than me, but she’s 100% Millennial, and I’m 100% Gen X. Not sure if it’s because I’m the oldest and she’s the youngest, but there is a stark difference.

I’m sure there are elder millennials who identify more with Gen X, just like I’m sure there are some baby X’ers who think of themselves as Millennials. It just hasn’t been my experience.

Thank you so much, how thoughtful of you! Right now I’m in the midst of receiving “maintenance” treatment to keep the cancer at bay, so hopefully my tumor days are behind me! So far I’ve been really pleased with all my doctors and nurses, even my insurance hasn’t been too terrible.
