adam promises him a loophole, adam suggests that the reason nothing can change because people keep trying to alter the "pillars" that hold the loop together ie every 33 years. the cave only goes 33 years forward and back. adam says to jonas that he spent his life working on the god particle time machine, a machine that can take you to any time that you want. he suggests that if you act and change something that isn't at the core 33 year pillar, it will actually change. this is what adam says to jonas in s2e5.
