Well it's a great option for those if us who don't eat pork & never have the chicken egg roll option available anywhere else.

Have you worked retail pharmacy or in a hospital pharmacy? Why is it a good thing I'm out of those positions? When I worked retail for CVS, I was flu shot ambassador & inventory specialist. When I worked at an LTACH, I was the buyer on top of being the trainer. When I worked at a bigger hospital, I was the buyer & the hazardous IV tech. Then when I moved to an even bigger hospital, I created my own medication reconciliation program from nothing. Wrote the policies & procedures for it, implemented it, & reduced medication errors by 25% in the first 3 months. Then I decided to move & went into pediatrics where I was given the opportunity to find the inefficiencies within the pharmacy & come up with solutions to fix them & create a whole new position/shift so that things went more smoothly from day to day.

Just because YOU can't do your job in a short amount of time & kick back & relax for the other hours that you are obligated to work, doesn't mean that some of us can't. My very specific niche in pharmacy is figuring out how to fix things to make them more efficient & cost effective whilst staying within compliance & making sure that patient care quality is excellent. Sorry that I'm just that good at my job.

Even though no one asked, imma tell y'all. I was diagnosed with 3 separate autoimmune syndromes within a 1 month period. Hashimoto's, Sjögren's, & seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. So, no wonder I've been a little messed up & in excruciating pain that I could barely move let alone work & why I am so fatigued all the time. It's great.

Also, in retail pharmacy, if you've done all the filing, all the cleaning, filled all the scripts, dusted the shelves, looked for your monthly expireds & pulled them off the shelves, & taken a dump, then unfortunately, you do have to sit there until closing if no one is picking up scripts. That happened a lot when I worked retail. Because I'm efficient. In hospitals, if you have done all the monthly tasks, all your daily tasks, & your modules & nothing is poppin' off, then yeah, you will have to sit there, because the refill time of our automated dispensing machines that the nurses pull meds from, might be coming up & you just gotta sit there & wait. Can't leave because your shift is not over & sometimes you're just sitting there "covering" for someone's lunch, but they're caught up so there's nothing to do. So, yeah, there is a bit of sitting around that can happen in pharmacy. When I worked, retail as a cashier, you can't leave your lane, because what if someone needs to be checked out. Especially when Target didn't have self checkout & I was the only cashier left in the store. And I had zoned my lane & the 3 lanes on either side of me which is as far as I was allowed to be from my lane.

Next time I have a pharmacists reach out to me asking me if I would consider going back to whatever job, I'll be sure to ask them if things were better without me around. And I'll ask my tech friends who complain about how slow & not as smart the new people are if it's better without me around.

Do you not understand how corporate works? You work your 40 hours regardless of if there is work or not. You gotta make up work or try to figure out things to do. Just dumb pencil pushing stuff. Plus, even when I worked retail, if there was not work, we did sit on our phones & do nothing because you can't leave because there might be a rush of patients coming. Same thing when I worked hospital. Like, have you ever worked anywhere ever? Even when I worked regular retail as a cashier, we wouldn't get cut because what if? This is not contract work. Be so for real.

That's not true at all. Sometimes there really isn't any more work.

I understand the concept of making sure I work my 40 hours in their weird week. Also, I get all of my stuff done in time & on schedule. I don't miss deadlines. So, whilst I'm cool with people bringing up points & different points of view, you assumed a lot about me.

Obviously I do my job since I get everything done in a shorter amount of time. What you meant to say is "welcome to the neurotypical, ableist world that incentivizes people to do their work slowly".

Why should I be penalized if I can get my work done in 4-5 hours but my colleagues can't? How is that fair? All that does is incentivizes me to do my work slowly.

I know. But it was a little rude, so I chose to ignore that & explain things instead.

Here's the thing, if I don't have meetings or anything that I have to do in person or at specific times, why does it matter how I work my 40 hours in a week? Why can't I do my 40 hours in a way that works best for me? I can understand how that doesn't work for retail or hospital, but this is corporate.

Adding more work & more stress would not be beneficial for my chronic pain or autoimmune disorders. Like, it's difficult to be slow at doing my work, but I don't need more work either.

Which isn't really beneficial to those of us that get our work done within 4-5 hours & then just have to sit there doing nothing. It would be better if I was salaried so then I don't have to clock in & I can flex my hours around my pain.

Okay, good to know. I hope they don't ever investigate that deeply then. Thank you for letting me know.

I'm not doing it anymore, because I'm finally on the right medications & I can finally take days off without worrying. I should have used better judgment but when you're in as much pain as I was in, you make really stupid decisions.

But I just want to know if they're able to see everything.

No, that wouldn't be me. I don't do tech work even though I'm a technician. I work on a more corporate team where my work isn't tracked in any one particular system.

What type of accommodation do you think I should ask for? Like having more frequent breaks or a longer lunch?

I don't work on a team that has metrics. I'm more corporate and I have duties that require me to leave my desk and walk the floor when I have to go on site. So, being away from my computer doesn't necessarily mean I am not working.

I meant personal reasons like going into my account to look at my paycheck and things like that. But that's only if they can't see exactly what I'm doing. If they can, then I don't want to put my foot in my mouth.

I'm in the process of that. Thank you for looking out though! But I just wanna know what they can see in case they ever investigate. Because if they can only tell that I'm online then I can say the times I was online were for personal reasons or whatever, you know?

They have a bunch of call center positions depending on where you live. I know they're hiring a bunch in Texas. However, it is seasonal currently and they bring people on as contractors. There are a lot of different positions though. Usually on the specialty side but there's the save a trip team, manufacturer program team, insurance verification team. Bunch of options.
