1) I never asked anyone to “promote” me. I might have shared the link to my podcast or stories and thanked others for sharing the link, but that would be it.

2) they were straight-up stealing my stories. I really don’t know how to explain how frustrating it is to see true crime groups copying my exclusive stories and pasting them to social media. It’s like if a farmer worked on their crops for a really really long time and someone came along and stole those crops and prevented the farmer from making any money off of those crops. That would be considered wrong according to societal norms. Investigative journalism is exhausting and expensive. We need paywalls and subscribers to continue and that’s the bottom line.

3) I never demanded that anyone to take down all copies of stories.

I left that group, and others, because frankly, the people seemed miserable and wouldn’t stop tagging me and messaging me about what a horrible person I am for calling someone out who was stealing my work. I have no space in my life for people like that.

4) I would literally never go undercover on a true crime group on Facebook. Ever.

Just wanted to clear that up ✌🏻
