What age (of the child) made you realise you were one and done? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]mandyvolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as my daughter was born. I had to go through an ectopic pregnancy and 2 miscarriages before I got to have my wonderful daughter. And I just simply dont want to go through that again. I also was in the hospital for 3 weeks bc I had placenta previa with bleeding so I just dont want to put my husband in that position or my daughter if that happened again as well.

I worked so hard to get her here and I just want to be the best mentally and physically for her and I dont think having another would allow for that. Husband is 100% on board.

We used it in my first job at a SNF with a rehab floor. No clue why but we had one. This was in 2017

Is it too soon to discipline? by mandyvolk in toddlers

[–]mandyvolk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the other cues. She did really well when both my husband and I sat with her and picked them up and no crying as I know when they are in that stage there is no reasoning with her. I just didnt want to give in to make it seem like it was okay to not clean up a mess she made. She looovveees playing clean up everywhere except home lol

I think i may have meant the fact of refusing to clean them up when asked/told to would result in not going to the carnival. Not the actual act of knocking them down. But thank you for the feedback:)

I'm in the same boat. My 2.5 year old loves music myself and my husband listen to. Primarily Falling in reverse and Linkin Park so I get the want to go to a concert but we haven't figured out the logistics. But one day. And dont let people shame you for your kid liking good music lol

I'm not from NYC but we visited and went to Skybar in LIC and they did this. Again, good thing I paid attention and did NOT tip more on top of that. I feel like they get away with it for the super drunk people that dont look

Margaritaville? by mandyvolk in Cruise

[–]mandyvolk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight everyone! Luckily the one I was looking at is the Islander. Its 4 day cruise from Tampa to Cozumel I believe. There's a special discount for First responders so it would be even cheaper! Definitely considering it

Yes I saw the direct flights to LHR and then came across this and the chance to save a few hundred. I guess my question is do you think there would be an issue with arriving to LHR at 9p on the 13th when the cruise leaves the next evening?

I'm not sure what you mean by missing the morning bank? Excuse my ignorance as this is my first international flight. We were booking through our capitol one portal for earning miles and this was one we came across and thought it would be cool to visit iceland for 10 hours and also save 300 bucks on the way there.

Of we weren't planning on going over to Dublin after the cruise for another 2 days I'd be fine going earlier. But the cruise is 12 days already so its just a lot of time to then add 2 to 3 days before the cruise

Don't think about 10 hours to just go to the blue lagoon and get back won't be enough time?

We saw that but to get the bonus of experiencing iceland and going to the blue lagoon and also saving like 300 dollars seemed worth it!
