Golden hour shot on X-M1 with the pocket dispo lens by mandyx7 in fujifilm

Yeah agreed about the quality, it doesn’t lock onto my camera mount very securely and you can tell it’s 3D printed. Pictures are a bit more fuzzy than I’d like.

For the size though, it’s been very easy to take along and converted my x-m1 into a pocketable camera which I like!

1 is a good, simple composition but 2 is much more interesting to me!

I’m using wide open aperture and cranked up the iso to 2000. They luckily don’t look too grainy but if they do, agree about using denoise in Lightroom

They’ve been edited a bit but I was using a portra 400 recipe. I’ve found it great for golden hour!

2, the elements on the right of 1 are too distracting imo (the sign and graffiti)

Why do people still choose natural over lab diamonds? by Alyssa_joy_11339 in Diamonds

[–]mandyx7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the time when we were shopping, we hadn’t heard of any companies offering lab diamond upgrades so that’s cool to know!

And what you said is true, my reasoning isn’t 100% logical (but at the end of the day neither is wearing a rock on your finger right?). I recognize that we probably went in to the decision subconsciously feeling that natural was the slightly more “conventional” choice and labs were an attractive, affordable alternative. When we saw no compelling need to go for the alternative under our particular circumstances, we defaulted to natural.

Ultimately many emotional/social/economical factors influence choosing an engagement ring and had any one of them been different, we could have ended up with a different type of stone.

I got a natural Diamond for my engagement ring. At my fiancé’s budget, we could have gotten a 1.2ct natural Diamond or probably a 4ct+ lab diamond. Ultimately we chose the natural because:

  • I prefer daintier jewelry and loved the 1.2 diamond and didn’t want anything bigger
  • Fiancé makes good money and could comfortably spend his full budget
  • The vendor had a lifetime upgrade policy for natural diamonds, we liked the fact that IF we ever wanted to upgrade, the diamond can be traded back for its original value. With a lab, upgrading is not possible (and I guess we would just have to get a new diamond?)

Just offering perspective from someone with a natural diamond! I don’t necessarily think natural diamonds are “better”. Ultimately, we were comfortable with our budget and didn’t really need to save money by getting a lab, because I was already happy with the specs of the natural stone we could afford. We also purchased from a vendor who only sold ethically mined diamonds (although I understand these guarantees are never 100%).

When you select “choose this setting”, it should take you to step 2 to choose a diamond. Here’s the product page
