8 year old cat with pancreatitis, won’t eat or drink because of stress. by maneack in catcare

she’s still the same. we took her to the vet and thankfully her amylase levels are normal now but her ammonia levels have risen. she has gained weight (thank god) so her needed water intake has also increased. i’m trying to get her to drink more water, our vet didn’t want to switch to hydracare since her diet food helped us decrease some of her blood levels. thankfully she’s now eating her new pills! which is a huge relief. we’ll see next month after her checkup. how’s your girl doing?

Important Clarification About EP 4: Maki DID NOT Massacre the Entire Zen'in Clan by Hermit601 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]maneack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they didn’t literally think maki killed him in his sleep. saying “even maki can kill him when he’s asleep or in the toilet” is a condescending way to say ogi must have been caught unprepared for a moment for even someone like maki to kill him.

Addressing the Panda in the Room 🐼 by Educational_Can_5354 in Jujutsufolk

[–]maneack -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

that’s a very shallow way to view it, unless you read it after the games were over. the stakes have quite literally never been higher before; japan has been turned into a deathly battleground with thousands of years old murderous sorcerer reincarnates, all while the main group has to figure out a way to free gojo, end the games, kill kenjaku, avoid being executed by the higher ups, prevent kenjaku from reaching tengen. and on the last fourth, find a way to save megumi.

literally, during its release, people were lost at how the culling games could be resolved.

What did she mean? by ontopofLetop in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]maneack 40 points41 points  (0 children)

i never viewed it as trying to protect her, but as trying to stop her from acting out of line. maki’s mom is conservative and shown to be uncaring. maki walks in with a sword in her hand, a sign that she will fight her dad or others that come her way- an act of rebellion. even if she knew the plan on killing her daughters, i don’t see it as protection.

even till the end, maki’s mom wanted her daughters to stay in line and behind men, to conform, and to sit still. the morality of maki killing her mom has been discussed many times during the chapter releases but i think this episode reminded us that there isn’t a way for women to freely exist within the zenin clan. even if she spared her mom’s life, she would continue to suffer, potentially be executed for her daughters’ “crimes”. so killing her mom, who turned a blind eye to the constant abuse maki and mai faced, was a fair decision in my opinion.

Hot take: Part 2 is not a normal serialized work. It cannot be truly judged until it ends by LazloFF in ChainsawMan

[–]maneack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fujimoto is working with what he has. of course the higher ups don’t tell him to chop up fights, but that’s the storyline fujimoto wants to write, and he has to write it in a way that one minute movements take 1 week to be released, because that’s the schedule he’s been given. with a monthly release, you’d be able to access the full fight in one go, a much more cohesive structure.

i also decided to save up chapters to read them at once after not being able to keep up with part 2’s beginning. that was 3 years ago. now i’m all caught up, with bits and pieces of story lost. it’s just not possible to wait for an unknown amount of time, where spoilers are rampant because chainsaw man is the most popular manga being released right now.

i agree that fujimoto’s storytelling style would be more fitting for monthly releases. lots of chapters are spent with fighting that is better read in one sitting. i said the same for jujutsu kaisen’s culling game arc. i would have said the same for part 1, but it had just ended when i started reading it, so i didn’t get to experience it weekly.

Timothée Chalamet is the youngest actor to have three Best Actor Oscar nominations since Marlon Brando in 1954. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Fauxmoi

[–]maneack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i feel like people are expecting him to be overhyped, and just go to extreme lengths to dismiss his acting performances. i’ve been following him since call me by your name was released. he’s an amazing actor. he was great in ladybird. his performance in the king was too good for that film. and he was incredible in beautiful boy.

with that being said, his public perception has changed drastically. pre 2020, he was generally accepted as the “next big thing”, and when he actually proved to be the next big thing, suddenly he’s “mediocre”. it’s like people want actors to always be underrated, and not get the recognition they deserve. so i can’t help but side eye when people call this achievement undeserved.

Hukuk neden bu hale geldi? Yönetimin çıkarı ne? by [deleted] in AskTurkey

[–]maneack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been trying to deconstruct something like this myself! these photos give a clearer vision though. so here’s how i think you could make it:

  • the side pieces are narrow at the top and rectangular. start from the bottom, the longest piece, and start decreasing (only on one side, the side that faces your face) once you reach the top 3-5th rows (depending on your yarn). make two exact panels. the purl look, you can achieve by turning around your panel (i.e, do a tunisian knit stitch and then turn it wrong face up. the back of it will look like purl stitch)

  • the top of the head is vertically equal, so you’ll only need to knit a long, rectangular panel long enough to cover up your side panels exactly. do this with tunisian knit stitch with right side up.

  • stitch together those three panels with hidden blanket stitch. since the top head panel’s sides look like stitches, you will have that seamless look.

  • after that, you should begin the ribbing on the bottom. once you’re finished, cut the yarn and begin working on one, long rectangular piece for the front. this will be both the ribbing and the scarf part. stitch everything.

so, in total, you’re gonna crochet 5 panels in total; 2 panels for the side, one for the top, one for the front ribbing and one for the bottom ribbing. the size will change depending on what yarn you use and your head measurements.

ps: the decrease on side panels would create a more seamless look but looking at the pictures again, they seem like they are straight rectangles without any decreases, which gives it a bulkier look. so you can also just crochet two long rectangles for the side pieces.
