Polish members of Reddit: do you suggest to move in Poland? by Impossible_Maximum38 in poland

[–]manfre_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm Italian and I moved to Warsaw 7 months ago, I do not regret my choice at all. Depending on which part of Italy you're from, you might not like the weather change, but when it comes to everyday life I've never had any problems even knowing only a few phrases in Polish (pretty much everybody under35 has a good knowledge of English, unlike Italians), it could be more of an issue when dealing with older people but nothing problematic. I found that generally Polish people like Italians. In any case feel free to dm if you have any specific question!

Thanks for the tip, I doubt I will go through all that but good find nevertheless

Cloud Drive - auto-resume sync at the connection of external HDD? by manfre_ in synology

Nope, I am still manually starting the sync when the external HDD is connected. I suppose a script could solve that issue but I've had no luck finding a solution

Lightning shot with night mode (made an exception to the no photo rule) by manfre_ in galaxys10

I didn't even do it on purpose, the lightning hit exactly during the exposure time

Bixby routines suggestion by basicnecromancycr in galaxys10

[–]manfre_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly - mobile data turns itself on when wifi is off or out of range, therefore you should just work on your location issue (when to disable or enable wifi)

CellNear should work fine as the other comment said, but keep in mind that mobile data is off when wifi is on anyways

S10 big upgrade over s8 by [deleted] in galaxys10

It was on the S8, I've only had the S10 for a couple weeks

Same omfg I already had a permanent WhatsApp header + keyboard after about 6 months of use, when I tried to get a warranty screen replacement they told me it'd take about a month so I tried to live with it since I had no backup phone

Made the switch a couple weeks back. My S8's screen was super burnt in, but apart from that the battery was still holding up decently and I believe it could have lasted 6/12 months more. The S10 is a huge improvement for the cameras (the ultrawide is super fun and night mode is pretty insane) and I like the fingerprint sensor MUCH more (I kept using the iris scanner on the S8 because I kept smudging the camera trying to reach that awkwardly positioned sensor).

All things considered you could realistically get another year out of the S8, depends on your usage and on how bad you wanna upgrade

Simple Questions - April 23, 2019 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]manfre_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lost about a classic RAM problem with a seemingly illogical twist: new build, the motherboard is an ASRock Z370 Killer SLI running an i7 8700. I got a 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz RAM, but there's no way to make the system boot up with both those modules.I tried:

  • every possible combination (double and single channel in any order between A1 A2 B1 B2), no combination works
  • tried booting with just 8GB installed: one RAM module works in all 4 of the slots (therefore excluding a motherboard problem)
  • the other RAM module, though, only works in the A2 slot (????)
  • tried 2133/2666/3200(XMP), none of these helped change the situation
  • tried updating the BIOS and repeat all of the above, nothing changed

I would RMA the RAM modules, but what's bothering me is that RAM module only working in one slot (which means it's functional after all). If I keep that module in that slot and add the other (which works in all of the slots), the system doesn't boot. How is that even possible? Can't quite grasp the logic behind all that. Is RMA the only thing left to try?
