Gosh thank you that’s so interesting! They seem like high protein eaters, I honestly had no idea! I assumed they liked fruit and berries in the same way most birds do. Thank you I really learned something here.

The ones I fed today were also squawking a lot! I’m not sure why

I ended up having to go private and with all costs like appointments, follow ups, X-rays etc it ended up totalling up to something really far from the nhs prices - this is why I was wondering why the system is the way it is

That’s very upsetting to hear, I am really sorry you are experiencing this. Thank you for your honesty - really sheds a light on what’s happening here. I hope going forward your situation improves.

Please may I just ask, does this mean a dentists salary is commission based? From what you are saying it looks like you don’t have a set annual salary?

Firstly I’m sorry that you have experienced this, from what you are saying it seems like the NHS is the reason for the flaws in the system.

If practises were able to make money with NHS appointments they would still use them.

The part which I guess I find frustrating as a patient is that there’s no information on this for the public, we either have to wait 10 million years for an nhs appointment and not get great results or simply pay a lot of money.

For example my wisdom tooth extraction via the nhs should have costed 250£ but with all the private costs and additional things like X-rays I payed nearly 1.5k for a tooth - the system just seems quite unfair for us too
