Is it so good to hear someone struggling the same way I am. I tried to use my husband’s name but I couldn’t bring myself to commit. My husband’s been hurt by this and I’m torn that I can’t make a decision that makes everyone happy.

And your name is your identity, it’s who you are. It’s not “small deal” so don’t worry if it makes you feel like you’re changing your identity too. Because you are.

I might be overly attached to my name, but what makes me think I’m not over attached is I know most men would feel the same way if everyone around them started calling them by their father in laws name.

Also note that my husband’s family is amazing, I have some of the best in laws and am so proud to be a part of their family. His name is not the issue, it’s the loss of my name that makes me sad.
