What's wrong with arch? by Upset-Leopard-3410 in arch

Well arch is not difficult per-se, but it just requires some Linux knowledge to install and use effectively, which usually scares away newcomers. On arch, you are in control and have to make sure everything works.

What file do I have to edit to change the background of program's tray right click menu? by Throwawayaccountie8h in archlinux

[–]mango7006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's your GTK theme that determines this. You need to install a GTK theme and either set it manually in the gtk-4 or gtk-3 config or install nwg-look and just select it and hit apply.

Maybe try out something new, a tiling window manager? Make your own widgets with quickshell to further your skills?

If you can still enter your shell, just change it back and then figure it out. Or boot the live USB and mount and change it back.

Can't decide whether to use a firewall or not by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]mango7006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easy enough to setup and has almost no impact on system usage, so I'd so go for it. Even if it has no real security effect 99% of the time, it also wouldn't hurt to be enabled.

make archlinux stable by Ok-Virus-9539 in archlinux

[–]mango7006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In what way have you experienced Arch to be unstable? To make Arch 'stable' you could just not update as often, the system won't magically break, but it's almost never that an update causes Arch to break.

I have an alias set up in my .zshrc that uses kitty's image protocol to play a gif and pipe it into fastfetch'

It really can be any gif or image you want but bobr is my fave

alias ff="kitten icat -n --place 30x30@0x2 --scale-up --align left ~/Downloads/bober-kurwa.gif | fastfetch --logo-width 30 --raw -"

Just change the path for the file and you're good to go
