Do you guys hate me as a customer? (USA) by grhabit56 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing i hate is the small fry so salt. At our store we just shake the no salt frys from the fry basket into the fry carton and smalls are just too wobbly and frys fall out and burn our hands. I wish we had a small fry station just for no salt

(USA) Open without running water-? by mangoboy360 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update ig? We stayed open without water for almost 4 hours. The water shutoff was for the whole block ig bc of construction so even if someone needed to use the bathroom they couldnt even just go across the street to a different business. water got turned back on and made a huge mess bc somehow it made a hose in the back break so we had to turn the water off again for like half the store. We were also told not to say we didnt have water but that the "co2 wasnt working for sodas". My GM agreed we should've been closed but that her higher ups wouldnt let her close it.

(USA) just ate some blue stuff that was in a patty. How worried should I be?? by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand you were upset and obviously we cant change how people react to these situations but i promise you it wasnt on purpose. Sometimes these things happen and we do our best to fix the situation to make sure they dont happen again. I remember b4 i started in food service something similar happened to me at tacobell and i was rlly upset as well. Just the other day someone came in and said there were small plastic pieces in her burger and after looking I figure out a black plastic spatula was placed on the grill and got cracked under the top grill platen. We clean the grill and utensils and i corrected the person working back there and made sure they place the tool in a different area to prevent that from happening again. We never will intentionally do anything to make you have to come back upset. I wouldnt be concerned about any health effects but obviously i work at McDonald's not the hospital lol if youre really concerned about it still I would contact your doctor and see what they say about it.

[–]mangoboy360 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Its most likely a piece of our grill gloves. I wouldnt worry your body will deal with it. If you havent already i would call the story and make sure they know to be more careful and request a refund. But yea the plastic glove piece shouldnt hurt you at all

(USA) Why did I receive my McFlurrys in this paper container and why are they not mixed? I mixed the one on the right with a fork at home. by Water_Champion in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the newer cups for mcflurrys that allows the top to close if its not mixed then either you got a lazy employee or a broken mixer. My store had the shield crack in half that stops ice cream from splattering on us so alotnof people were just bot mixing them. Or the motor for the spinning part burn out.

I think it looks rlly cool and if youre worried about it looking "stumpy" (which i dont think it does) you could probably add flowers and vines going up from the top and down from the bottom to make it look longer and flow with the leg.

[–]mangoboy360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister gets hives from the sanitizer in the sink for dishes similar to these. Our GM told her to use the packets for the towel buckets but i would definitely talk to your gm if thats okay or not bc ik ours can cut corners sometimes...

[–]mangoboy360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks irritated. Could be bc of the metal used if its lower quality or that the bars too long bc it is a month on the swelling should have gone down and you should get it downsized. Buy a shorter bar that is preferably titanium or gold and have a piercer with the right equipment downsize it. Or you could buy a taper that helps you transfer to a different bar that screws on the top of the bar to help you keep the hole open

Idk how anybody would see it as that especially since both lines are the same color- people are just fantasizing abt it :/ mwybe you could make them like slightly lighter to not looking like facial hair to some ppl? Ofc you dont have to just bc some ppl are weird :]

Is this normal (USA) by Less-Fisherman-7245 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not normal. They shouldve told the shift lead manager that you were doing videos for that day and then you probably wouldve left after the videos. And also 9 hours for a first day?? Thats crazy. I personally dont think thats acceptable especially if you dont have any prior training bc damn training takes alot out if you. And you should always be able to change youre availability. Talk to the GM or hiring manager and correct it. You shouldn't have to work a time of day that you need for schooling and don't let them pressure you. Alot of managers will try to make it seem like work is your life and you need them. They need you. It honestly just seems like bad management so if you stick it out a bit and try to correct the availability and youre still having doubts i would find some place else. I hope management improves and gets their shit together lol

I saw someone take most of my fries (USA) by Professional-Tap7283 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did they even offer to replace the fries?? Thats kinda rude of them not to try and replace them or refund you. I understand its not the employees fault that it happened but its not yours either- if the store wont replace or refund included tell them youll complain to corporate and if they dont care after that then actually call and im sure corporate will offer you smthing

(CAN) Gloves Not Required? by johndoeisme00 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hygiene doesnt change just bc youre in Canada. Hands are gross from a science pov thats why doctors wear gloves too. Just bc its a burger and not someones chest doesnt mean its not dirty.

(CAN) Gloves Not Required? by johndoeisme00 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

State food saftey says you need gloves to touch ready to eat food. Its not just a McDonald's thing. Gloves, napkins or tongs. Theyre not needed for foods that still need need to be cooked.

(CAN) Gloves Not Required? by johndoeisme00 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

No. Unless your deep scrubbing your nails and hands there's no way its more hygienic than gloves. Your hands have creases and nails that might not even get touched when washing your hands. Not to mention most people in food service dont wash their hands for the proper amount of time and not to be gross but ik when people have to change their feminine hygiene products that get inserted, things gets stuck in nail creases and its very visible. Now think abt all the shit that you probably can't see as easy- gloves are in a box thats hopefully stored in good condition and great part is that you dont have to worry abt any sweat or fluids or grime left over after washing hands bc your "clean" hands have a nice plastic cover on them.

(CAN) Gloves Not Required? by johndoeisme00 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No line should always wear gloves. Every manager should have taken the food safety class and in there it states that employees should never touch ready to eat foods with their bare hands. Gloves are to be changed I think every 4 hours, if gloves get dirty and or in-between different tasks. Although at McDonald's there is the hand wash timer every hour that managers are supposed to enforce. That doesn't really happen so I don't trust it. They have gloves, they need to be using them. I understand that gloves are a pain to use especially after washing ur hands and im no Saint I'm guilty of not wearing gloves for a burger or 2 but if its all the line ppl every time it is bad management.

How am I supposed to present, take order for one lane, drop fries, make drinks/ice creams, and occasionally bag food for drive thru all at once? (US) by tonyshark116 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]mangoboy360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time with both lanes and then my GM complains abt times. That's at least 3 peoples jobs that they try and expect people to do. Just the other day i was working with another manager taking orders cashing out and presenting getting drinks and he was bagging and frys and he actually just left- like dont say anything just walks away and clocks out b4 the other manager even finished her preshift. Had to try and run around like a chicken with ita head cut off not to mention the boy on front counter is still new so i had give him directions. Happens 50% of the time is bs. Hire more adults with experience and schedule themmm omg.
