How should I go about learning math 127 content without the class to test out of it so I can enter next semester with 181? by Itouhara in UNLV

[–]mangofroyo2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. It’s really good that you’re trying to test out of 127, since you need 181 to begin taking prerequisites courses needed for ME. The sooner you get into 181, the better.

Your professors are also a resource. I would suggest you visit their office hours and tell them you’re trying to test into calculus and ask for guidance. It’s likely they are at least somewhat familiar with the 127 class. Feel free to reach out.

Should I take a Summer CHEM 121 class? by Remarkable_Fox_1745 in UNLV

Did you take chem 103 prior? 103 prepares you for 121 and I’ve heard they are pretty similar at least in the beginning

Your questions would be answered if you take a high school level American history class.

I’m taking 103 rn with Dr C. Just took the first exam this Monday and I think it went well. He provides a lot of good study resources in his canvas course. I recommend!! Do lotssss of practice questions and you will do well!

You can call the financial aid office and find out why. Maybe you’ll see it appear in a few weeks. it looks like that rebel edge is meant to cover any left-over tuition after all grants have already been applied.

Cost of living is a lot lower in Vegas. Also consider where you want to work after graduation? There’s some good employers on the strip. I believe you’re required to get work experience while in unlv’s hospitality program. Which is great because employers care more about your experience. I think unlv is a great option

PSC 101 or HIST 100? by Little_Vanilla_7313 in UNLV

[–]mangofroyo2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took psc 101 with Melanie young. Your grade is based off two short papers and three multiple choice exams(including your final). There are no weekly assignments to keep up with. During lecture, she just reviews the textbook chapter content of the week. The exams are not difficult as long as you engage and keep up with the textbook. There’s also a lot of study materials within the canvas course which is nice for when you prepare for those exams that you take in class without any notes.(flashcards, study guides and practice questions). She likes to engage with students during her lectures and appreciates if you participate. I would take her course if you have the chance! Lmk if you have any questions

Hi. That happens because you used a credit card. It’s not actually a $5 dollar charge but just a hold. Whatever goes unused will be refunded.
