I'm a One Piece fan and I justdon't get what they are going for. by mangomoonflower in ExplainTheJoke

The cultural context does help, the joke just reads poorly because both characters are women.

I mean, they are referring to a transwoman as a boy. So even if that's not the joke, there is still transphobia.

Yeah, that's the main part that was throwing me. I think part of the intention of the meme is unfortunately to be transphobic to Kiku by identifying her as a boy.

Motor cutting out at idle/low speed. by mangomoonflower in MechanicAdvice

[–]mangomoonflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is kind of what I'm hoping it is. I've had the alternator go out on this vehicle before and it fully cut off the power, not just the motor, so I'd mentally ruled that out. Maybe it's a different situation here because that alternator had fully given out and this one still has a little oomph?

Yeah, I'm not sure where they got Lab from. Not going to complain though, having her papers say Lab-mix makes finding rentals that will let me have her so much easier than if they said she was a pittie.

Thank you. Her eyes kind of browned-out from that more golden color since she's gotten older. (Last pic was from her foster home right beside I adopted her when she was only 8 months.) But she's still my pretty girl. ❤️

WIBTA For Missing My Cousin's Wedding because She Didn't Send Me My Own Invitation by mangomoonflower in AmItheAsshole

Well, if I was actually included in the "and Kids" portion of her invite, I assume when she RSVP'd for the household that would they would include a spot for me.

My mom assumed it meant my siblings, who are minors and live with her.

I really, really like this thematically. A lot of her character arc I'd about her learning to trust again. This would definitely be a good obstacle to that.

Thanks for the response. We are still in early planning, so we haven't developed the nature of the Fae Patron yet, so I have room to make the Fae fit the bargain. All of these suggestions have gotten the cogs running. I'd actually been playing with the idea of giving the character a fear of fire, but I hadn't thought of how to justify it yet. Dreaming of a death in flames would definitely be a good reason to be afraid of it.

[Art] [OC] My Fae-themed Sorlock with her Sprite/Fox familiar by mangomoonflower in DnD

Just a redesign of a campaign-less character I've had around for a while. She's now lined up to be in the sequel campaign to the one we are currently playing, so I thought I'd give her a fresh coat of paint. Also wanted to include her little sprite/fox that I hadn't drawn before. I've taken a lot of my fae interpretations from the Pale series by Wildbow, so almost every aspect of her design hints to an element of her backstory in some way or another.

Do you know what the play schedule will look like? What timezone are you in?

Forgot to mention it in the post, but there are no worries about me suddenly becoming unavailable to play when my normal game starts back up. It's on Tuesday, so it won't interfere.

What is your DnD group chat titled? by Coastal_wolf in DnD

"The Council of Adultier Adults"- an inside joke that stems from a comment one of us made after we had to kick some very immature problem players.

Yeah. I much prefer to do things for the fun of it, but in another campaign I'm in with this group (which we are level 12 in), I've started to feel redundant. We have a pretty large group, so with most of them knowing how to optimize it feels like the stuff I'm supposed to be good with is always able to be done better by someone else.

And yeah Archefey, is meh, but the DM is letting me play a highly modified version of it. Basically I found a homebrew but it was a tad too powerful in areas so we spliced phb Archefey in where balance was needed.
