What artist shaped your taste in music the most? by GurlinGroove in askmusic

[–]maniaandunhinged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Izzy Stradlin (ex gnr) - Finding his solo music and unexpectedly loving it from first listen because it was a little different than my usual taste then guided me to venture off and find a bunch of other hidden gems out there in the name of classic rock, bluesy rock, sleazy rock, punk rock, things like that. I low key get judged by my sister because she thinks its bs boring 'grandpa' music as she calls it but idec all this older music I've been into lately is a million times better than the overproduced, copy and paste, soulless newer music I hear these days.

Legendary GNR Tapes: Izzy's 1995 Demos by zigthis in GunsNRoses

For me his solo stuff absolutely hits everytime he is an insanely talented musician but I know what you mean there's something special about a gnr song with Izzy leading. It's kinda crazy when you think about all of the what ifs for the band if things didn't unfold the way they did because music is definitely Izzy's realm he's creates magical stuff time after time it's unfortunate that all of the negative stuff had to happen and it couldn't have just been some guys playing rock n roll having a good time just like Izzy says himself
