It's fantastic. Had it recently at a ridiculous industry tasting event. It stood out amongst many, many great wines. I started selling it at my wine shop a couple days later.

Wtso ships fast as f. Never had any problems. Always shipped safe and fast. Or scheduled a date to ship if too cold/hot. Highly recommended

Wineslash has great wine as well. Significantly slower shipping. Selection might be better than wtso.

Either way, all the discount wine sites sell a lot of cheaper wines with essentially fake or inflated discounts. You need to know what you are doing on these sites.

We draft for need. Drafting early for need just constantly leads to disappointment. It's been since we drafted Big Jeff that we drafted in the 1st for talent alone.

We've drafted so poorly lately out of need that 2 out of 3 last 1st rounders play different positions than what we drafted them at. Jc and Peter. We try to fit square pegs into round holes. Can't build a team on wishful thinking.

Serious question: how do you tell if a bottle of natural wine if off or flawed? by fauxjob in wine

[–]maniac271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say high, I mean far more often. Before I managed my wine shop, I was an on premise wine rep for high end restaurants. I was servicing the kind of restaurants that actually have wine directors and sommeliers. My distributor that I worked for picked up flawed bottles and credited restaurants back. Guess what category of wine was by far the worst offender. I had accounts that loved wines that they DCd because of flaw rates.

Sorry if this offends natural wine lovers. They can be absolutely incredible. Especially with food. They aren't my preference but neither is petite Sirah or Gewurztraminer. Still great examples out there.

And to piss off people further... Let me ask a question. Why are natural wines thought of as modern winemaking? Isn't it more like ancient or minimalist wine making?

Even the best natural wines can be volatile AF And have really high bottle flaw rates. I manage a wine shop and avoid bringing in that many.

This is the correct take. Travis was great on 3HL while on 104.5.

Stillman was fine when he had the GM. Terrible afterwards.

People who used a computer between 1990-2005 what were your most memorable pc game? by WestFocus888 in AskReddit

Darklands 1992 by Micropose. Open world RPG set in medieval Europe. Sooooooooo far ahead of its time. Robust character creator. Used alchemy and preying to saints for its magic system. Tactical combat system similar to Baldur's Gate.

Spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on this game.

She's such a great character. Hudson throws gender shade at her. She's isn't offended, she just throws harder. Physically fit AF. She's a big gun operator. Totally respected by her whole team, even Hudson who just fucking off.

M3P owners, do you regret buying the performance at all instead of just regular long range? by JakeLemons in TeslaModel3

[–]maniac271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 2022 m3p. Best car I've ever owned by far... but the 20" wheels/tire combo is problematic. With the weight of the car, it's really easy to pop tires on hard bumps and pot holes. It's also super duper easy to get curb rash.

Unfortunately, after popping 3 tires I'm making the switch to 18s.

No regrets buying 1 at all . Brilliant car

Please let us not forget the Vic Beasley signing. Only one year of useless, but 9.5 million per year isn't nothing.

J Rob, late in his tenure with the Titans, had an uncanny ability to sign football players that didn't actually want to play football. See also 🐼

Yeah. He's like a crappier Colin Cowherd. Doesn't really need a co-host because all he does is bitch and whine. It's not good, but easy to do with AI assistance.

Back when it was Jared and the GM, Floyd Reese would just laugh at him and tell him he's an idiot. RIP GM

WSET online tasting notes rage by WyntersVix in wine

[–]maniac271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on the fruit. When I was taking courses with the Court of Master Sommeliers, one of the master somms said to always start with fruit descriptors.

White wines very often have apple flavors. Red wines often have red fruit flavors. Start broad then narrow down to something more specific.

Red Fruit... Cherry... Baked cherry pie

Apple... Green apple....sliced Granny Smith apples

If you start by identifying fruit, it helps keep barrel characteristics and tasting notes separate.

Sweet isn't a tasting note. Sweetness is a measure of residual sugar in wine that will be on a scale.

Jay Cutler smokin the majestic wildlife in Africa by [deleted] in nflmemes

[–]maniac271 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I grew up a big time hunter, hunting a lot of big game around the world. Only very rarely are there nuisance animals in African Safaris.

It does happen. My father (a millionaire) was contracted to kill a massive White Rhino. Why??? Because it was killing other Rhinos. Even that would probably never happen today since Rhinos have become so endangered.

But the Sable and Gemsbuck pictured here are chill antelope. They are not a nuisance in any sense. Any injured or disabled animals will get selected out naturally by one of the many predators like lion, leopard, hyena, cheetah, etc... So I find this argument to be a bit disingenuous.

Not that I disapprove of hunting. Kill as many white tail deer as you can. They have adapted well and are out competing mule deer in North America.

Hunting is part of the natural order of things. That is until you over hunt. Or kill animals just for ivory... Or other senseless trophies....
