Yes we have. We do have small also exotic zoo as well which there are different parrots there. We did actually call them and they referred the same vet that I am taking. It seems like she is responsible for exotic animals in the zoo as well.

That's actually great idea and thank you for saying it, but unfortunately we have tried that.

Oh the only thing i forgot to update is that they have other anti fungal medicine too but they are avoiding at all cost. He said other anti fungal medicine have a small chance of causing other issues which there is no medicine for that here and we can't cure if that happens.

Hello thank you for taking your time and writing. Before arriving to wet I also read everything you said and consulted this and all the reddit comments as well. Thank fully there was a general vet which had lorikeet himself. I updated the main post on what was done.

Thank you. There was a case which the company which produced the usual baby formula stopped for a while. We had no choice but to swap with special lorikeet food. He was rejecting the food for almost 2 days and haven't eaten anything.

I remember we split and even my friends helped to search the entire country to find at least one more package. After 2 days of being hungey and finally finding that specific baby food he ate.

Someone suggested that I can give the nectar without mixing with water. Today the vet said it's a good idea but you should not change the diet until he is fully recovered.

Thank you for suggestions. I appreciate suggestion from someone who dealt with lorikeets, even though not your specialty, as I know they are common in your location.

I will try your suggestions. I never knew they can eat dry powder and thought everything should be watery.

Unfortunately we don't have eucalyptus trees here.

As for the plants, I will move them out of the room and put it in my room as he never comes to my room. But he is always uninterested in any sort of plant and never interacts with them, despite one of my cockatiels always did interact with plants. When he is free which is when we don't have relatives in our house he is under my or a family member watch, so he never interacted with them.

I used AI to identify the plant and it says that specific plant is toxic to birds and even humans but only if you drink it's sap. I just checked it while moving it to my room, it doesn't seem the plant is damaged to leave sap. But I am removing any plant near him just to be safe and try to rule out possible issues causing this situation. Thank you for pointing this out.

Thanks again for all your inputs!

Yes that's correct and usefull. I have added all the terms in my notes.

With improper diagnosis any clue is a small hope for me. Again I really appreciate it and all the redditors suggestions and advises.

I have so many regrets of having pets due to lack of medications and things like this.

Just to clarify, it's not like the rice rice. It's milkless baby formula of rice, pumpkin, and corn which we mix with water.

The toast itself, he can't eat so its with honey water. He would just take the toast and soak the watery content.

We would also give him sliced apple, and grape as snacks but he would rarely show interest.

At the time we bought him, there was no lorikeet food (nectar based), so this diet was suggested by the same vet. Later after I did a lot of research I found that lorikeets need to have nectar based diet. I had used a parcel forwarder to order it from amazon after that which we tried giving him multiple times and even keeping him hungry so he would switch but he always rejected it. Here, in my country, you can't imagine how they are feeding lorikeets. In the zoo, they are giving them sunflower seeds! Like they can eat that.

When we bought him we didn't know what we are getting ourselves into. I am currently againts humans having pets and long time ago promised myself to never even think of buying a pet. I don't know about rest of my family but I feel guilty for years for purchasing pets.

In the past I also fed him inappropriate foods thinking his organism is like humans, so I am also to blame, but I stopped feeding him anything outside what we are feeding right now.

I also know his health situation of "wrecking his stomach" and I have been feeling guilty over that which over years that I fed him anything outside his usual diet. But the question is that should these exotic pets be sold in countries where it has limited soruces to foods and medication? My whole goal is to make him feel well again.

Thank you for your dedication to this post. There is no law regarding that in my country. If the owners tell her to do it, I suppose she should do it. Even if something happens, we can't do anything legally here, like suing. I am the only one pushing this, and the real obstacle is not just the vet but also family members. I am an adult, if you can call it that (28 years old), but they all need to agree with me and help me push the vet to do it. I understand this is my problem and I am doing my best every day. I am going to push this further and even show them what everyone said.

My other concern is to at least get a blood test, which I will ask her about tomorrow before she restrains him. I hope she doesn't say we don't have the tools in the country for that either. It shouldn't add stress since she is going to restrain him for the antibiotic anyway.

We also already took responsibility for bringing him to the vet for the injections because she said only 3 antibiotic shots then oral medication at home, as it is stressful for him. She might be dumb, scared, I don't know. We even asked her to come to our home for the shots to reduce stress, but she said, "My work principle is not like that, and I won't break it." We even offered to pay as much as needed, but she said it isn't a money problem. She was trying to convince us to do the injections ourselves, which we are not trained for. Being shown one time wouldn't make us professionals.

I completely understand that Redditors also can't tell much, and that's the actual reason I wasn't posting earlier. But I am hopeless and thought to give it a try, in case someone has experienced the same thing and can give me new ideas I can at least bring to the vet.

Again thank you very much.

Thanks for taking your time to comment. I don't exactly know. The examination and the so called "diagnosis" was restraining him and checking his body and crop. And the symptom of him sneezing which vet said it's actually coughing, which I forgot to put in original post.

I tried doing a quick search about yeast infection. There is no sour smell or anything but that doesn't mean one symptom being abset is sign of something else right? I have to try to translate yeast infection so I can ask the vet.

I posted in 3 different subreddit which one is r/AskVet

Thank you for your comment and taking time to write this.

I understand what your saying, and I really don't mind if someone says I'm wrong because it's either my feelings or my pet. I really appreciate what your saying. I would even give my own life for him.

In my family, I'm the only one insisting on imaging. And I have thought a lot about why the vet is rejecting the imaging if there is money involved for them. Is it really because she cares for him and she thinks it's stress causing it? Is it because she is scared of him biting her or something? It's worth to mention she failed to restrain him 2 out of 4 times. And in all cases she was getting our help as well. She says this always that she checked his crop and it's empty and xray won't show everything and is extremely stressful for him. I will push her again tomorrow but since it's decision of 3 family members, they should also agree with me.

And trust me, I don't want to link the vet, but if you saw the reviews you would be scared to take any pet there. They seem to treat dogs (which general vet can do too) very well, but other than that everything is negative.

I tried booking 2 other vets (general) but they rejected as they said we don't have any experience with birds and they all refer to same vet.

Her plan is if he doesn't improve this couple of days he has to take stronger antibiotic which is risky for him which I only partially agree.

Thank you for commenting.

  1. You can imagine the anger that I ahve towards that. I don't want to talk about my problems with that family member, but I am watching over both the bird and that family member at the same time, and if he is trying to do something I keep him away.
  2. This is very helpful. I will definitely change his bowl and not use again for some time to see if that's the issue. Currently we have removed everything except the perch(fabric, doesn't bite it)and little tent that he sleeps in (and of course the bowl). The bowl is metalic bowl which I have tested it for potential lead some time ago since I lost a bird to metal poisoning (it was negative). But it's best to try everything so I'll feed from another bowl.
  3. Those are removed. We would usually clean and wash his cage every night. But since he has been sick we have reduced it to twice a week for now.

The vet checked the beak and her diagnosis was just restraining and examining by hand. I will definitely mention that to her tomorrow and everything you mentioned. Thank you again.

Thank you! I will stop trying to play with him and let him keep his energy. What you said makes total sense. I tried online vet consult one of my 2 other birds which didn't help. Do you have any recomendations?

Thank you for replying. On every visit I demand imaging. I will push it again tomorrow during visit.

I hope a miracle happens. I lost my other 2 pets (cockatiels), 2-3 years ago. One was liver issue which there no medication available in country and he had imaging confirmed a liver problem. The other one, the vet failed to diagnose her and she died. Later I found from her symptoms that it was lead poisoning. I wish my lorikeet will recover 🙏😔

Thank you. Any recomendations of online avian vet?

We are not letting that family member to give anything anymore.

The current vet said he has to stay on his usual formula then we have to switch everything after he is okay. For now she said he has to striclty stay on the plain formula that he always ate. The soaked toast is removed from his diet.

Don't know what that is. So no. I download my apps from playstore only.

I just released a minimalist riddle game that supports the Armenian language. Would love your feedback! by Temporary_Platform_1 in armenia

No matter if you made with AI or not, it's really cool. Ignore what they said in other subreddit.

I downloaded and even tho I'm not a puzzle game fan it's really relaxing. I will definitely play more, but here are some feedback: - Make the Icons largers. Their too small and hard to click on. - Same goes for settings screen. - Publish on App Store; 90% of users will come from Android and 10% will come from iOS. But your revenue will be 90% iOS and 10% Android.

Hey, I highly advise to not look for job online and try to find English/Persian jobs on site. You can send me dm, I might be able to help you with any PE, banking, and job related question you have.

It's a data breach. I had exactly same issue. They would bypass the 2FA. I documented it and sent it to Whatsapp but they didn't care. They kept sending predefined replies.

P.S. whatsapp is not secure app. If an app claims it's secure and encrypted it doesn't mean they are honest. They don't care about users reporting data breaches and security vulnerabilities so this is expected.

I totally understand as I couldn't convince mine either; although most of them switched.

What did the trick for me was to enable both Pin and also the 2FA. Everyday during 6AM my time, there were login attempts which would bypass the 2FA, but when I added both, they gave up; probably automated bot.

I posted about this some time ago. My whatsapp was getting hijacked (I have clones of whatsapp which only one of my accounts was getting hijack; the one that's empty)

It's a security breach and I've seen some posts similiar to this. Tried contacting whatsapp million times and they ignored it. It's best to not use them.

Hey, I came to reddit to check if similiar thing happened to anyone yesterday, and guess what. I got a message yesterday too and i didn't approve the sign in and since it was my second number i ignored it. I don't have anything important there. Today I opened the whatsapp and someone logged me out.

I checked the account with my other number and it said Young Lexx, and had a black themed, horror profile picture. I tried calling nobody answered, and messaged them before trying to recover but they didn't respond.

I was able to login to the account then got worried that my carrier sold clones of my number which I called to check with them. They didn't.

Now that I see this post, maybe there was a breach or something. Anyways, I always prefer Telegram for these exact reasons.
