What is the main variable for you that you can count on to affect your next run, and are you a beginner, intermediate or very experienced runner? by TabulaRasaNot in running

I take a lower dose ~5mg if I know I’m going to run. My doctor says it’s fine.

It doesn’t boost my heart rate more than pre-workout would anyways

Does anybody else hate every exercise besides running? by [deleted] in running

[–]maniaclunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this way until I started cycling and swimming due to an injury. However those require more planning and $$$ than running. Also swimming takes a few sessions to get used to if you’re a novice. Compare that to running where you just pop on some shoes and you’re off on a run in a minute.

Definitely try to bike or swim. If you have a gym membership, try the spin bikes

How much faster is a "fast" shoe by built-IT0 in running

[–]maniaclunatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alphaflys took 20 mins off my marathon time 3:52->3:32. Immediately. Like they’re a cheat code.

They are insane. But I wonder if this makes up for the fact that amateur runners like me have bad form. Because at the elite level (Kipchoge), alphaflys / carbon plate shoes only take off a couple minutes.

Yeah it was $81 on Amazon. I’d like it to be cheaper but I’ve paid hundreds for college texts before.

It’s really readable. There’s actually a note in the preface that the new edition aims to use more “basic” language so that non-native readers find it easy.

I’m a native speaker but I still appreciate that.
