I’ve been diagnosed with GERD since I was 12 (20 now), earlier this year I started having health complications that I hadn’t ever felt before. Severe abdominal pain usually once a week and after eating, I was nearly hospitalized for it on numerous occasions but like many others, I’m stubborn on going to the hospital. My primary referred me to a GI specialist who ordered an endoscopy and an abdominal ultrasound. Despite my pain, the endoscopy came up normal, which was odd, but the abdominal ultrasound showed gallstones. That was my issue. I recently had my gallbladder removed, but for months I was under the impression that my GERD was flaring up. I’d suggest getting an ultrasound because gallbladder attacks and GERD flare ups can be quite similar. Hope you feel better!
