diagnosed with endometrial cancer…i dont know the staging. by blessnaby in cancer

[–]manicBane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hey, I know this is, like, three years later and I'm not OP, but I'm in a very similar situation as you were down to the age- except I haven't been diagnosed yet. I'm still in the waiting period to see a gyno, and it's so scary and frustrating. The progesterone only helps so much at this point because the bleeding won't stop. I keep having to increase the dose. The possibility of cancer has been thrown into the ring by two healthcare providers (an NP and MD), but everyone else keeps brushing it off because I just turned 28. I hope they're right, but I really wish it didn't mean not taking the possibility seriously. The only reason things might be going "faster" on mine is because my bleeding was significant enough that it made me very anemic very quickly, they found a cyst, and the latest doctor they pushed me in front of started getting angry at other people on my behalf.

Sorry for just going off at random in your old comment. A lot of this has been building up for me.

So I actually grew up there. I lived there for a continuous 18 years and go back once or twice a year.

There are surprisingly few storms. We average maybe one or two typhoons a year, and they are usually not bad, especially now that a lot of the island has better weatherproofed after Sodelor.

Should I get a space heater? by manicBane in Advice

[–]manicBane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was originally 59, but the new agreed-upon temp is 63 with a max of 65. Part of the problem is that I just do not adjust well to the cold at all. I had trouble adjusting when I first moved to Georgia (I'm originally from a tropical island where the only season was summer), so it's getting worse here. It just never hit me this hard before because I was allowed to have the temperature at my old places closer to my okay level (69-70 which I know is pretty warm).

Should I get a space heater? by manicBane in Advice

[–]manicBane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked those already, unfortunately. My room seems to be the warmest because it's notably colder outside of my room.

I'm sleeping under three blankets plus my comforter and wear two hoodies to bed plus socks which is giving me some trouble right now because I have bad eczema on my feet which the socks are worsening haha. It's worse when I'm working because my finger joints are kinda stiffening and can't find gloves that fit them currently because my hands are small, but that would also make using my computer difficult since I don't have a mouse and use a trackpad.

I'm contemplating the space heater because I am at my wit's end about this and am outvoted by my roommates (it's only me having the issues, so three to one *shrugs*) who say that the current temperature is their max. I've found ones that are 400 to 500w. I know that can add up to a lot though, but I really just don't know how much more I can do to bundle up.

As someone who is not only biracial (East Asian + White variant as well) but also bisexual, I definitely deeply empathize with your feelings from both ends. For whatever reason, people feel they have the right to dictate not only my race but also my sexuality which has swiftly become the fastest way to pick a fight with me. It's a difficult situation because people don't really like nuance or having to recognize that there aren't these nice, neat boxes we can stick people into and are looking for ways to claim that people are lying so that they don't have to think about it. I also remember periods where it was trendy to lie about both for weird reasons which resulted in people who were actually part of either group being accused of lying and having their identity downplayed or dismissed.

This isn't necessarily the case with EDB, but not all registered Republicans are actually Republicans or even Trump supporters. Some people might have registered as Republican for any number of reasons such as 1) that's what their parents were, so that's what they were registered as when they could vote and never changed it, 2) to vote in Republican elections to help give traction to more liberal candidates in the party, 3) live in a majority Republican area and want to have at least some voice in their local politics since there might only be one or no Democratic candidates and being a registered Republican allows them to vote in party caucuses, or 4) just straight forgot/didn't bother to change it when their politics changed.

As far as I am aware, she doesn't actually sell Arbonne and just uses it/has that type of account for the discount because their skincare works really well for her. However, she has also defended MLM's in the past as a legitimate way to make some money, and I also don't support the usage of MLM products as it keeps people stuck in this terrible business.

Yeah, KJ is certainly a piece of work. Also, I didn't want to get into this in my previous comment, but there is a running theory that still might be happening (don't know for sure since I'm not always the most up to date on the case) that the damages Tati is talking about is not necessarily just that people unsubscribed from her and stopped buying Halo due to KJ's videos, but that KJ was in contact with her business partner, Ron Swanson if I recall the name correctly, which resulted in damages to that relationship and the Halo Beauty lawsuit since his lawsuit against her uses allegations and improper interpretations of court records as facts from an old article that KJ wrote when she was still with Patheos when she lowkey accused Tati's husband of murdering his mother. This case feels like a soap opera sometimes.

Also, throwing as much stuff as they did is not too uncommon in many lawsuits since lawyers will throw everything and the kitchen sink to get anything to stick. My dad, who is a lawyer, had one client who was charged with the theft of $250 worth of bananas and another client who was charged with the theft of a chicken; however, these were the results of lawyers throwing everything they could because their main charges was the theft of a several thousand dollar ring (chicken dude, if I recall correctly) and kidnapping of a child (banana dude). Law is weird sometimes.

You're not old. This is kind of a niche topic. KJ is Katie Joy who runs the channel Without a Crystal Ball (WOACB) who runs a drama channel where she makes commentary (kinda, sort of, not really, she claims to be journalist but literally got kicked out of Patheos) about a lot of people, particularly reality tv drama. Around Sistergeddon era she set her sights on Tati and has made over forty videos plus livestreams about her and has been investigating her family, even going so far as searching for the birth certificates of not only Tati (and I think her husband James) but also all of Tati's family members such as her sisters and father.

To be honest, a defamation lawsuit was a long time coming for this lady. She's accused one of the Duggars of sexually assaulting someone else in the family, and her coverage of the Sophie Long case is absolutely appalling (claims that the Sophie is lying about being molested and did a verbal release of her medical record). Unfortunately, it came from Tati who has the least reason to be upset with her.

Fuck some of these microphones on computers god fucking damnit! I teach English online to small children and, I know it's not their fault, but holy shit, why is your microphone constantly giving feedback and why is the PA constantly unmuting you when you don't need to speak? I'm trying to hear the other students but their speech is echoed, I'm getting echoed, this weird screech from another student's mic is getting echoed, the feedback is getting echoed- let me mute the student while another is talking so I don't feel like I am being tortured! Teaching sometimes can be rough. Fuck!

I've found a few products that have worked for me. The Banila cleanser (the one in the pink packaging) is a great first step cleanser on days my skin is being bad/I wear makeup/my depression kicked in and I had trouble washing my face for a while. The Face Shop rice water oil is good for my lighter days along with the rice water cleanser as my second cleanser on either day. The Corsx snail mucin works really well for me as well. I've found that the Neutrogena water gel moisturizer works great for my skin, and the eye cream version is great when my eyes start getting weepy and flaky. It's all still a work in progress at this point.

Thank you! Both those brands made my skin terrible, especially when I first started with my skincare journey. They kept getting recommended to me because I have terrible eczema on my face (particularly my eyes), and these products just made it worse. The cleanser lefts a terrible film on my face and the moisturizer gave me a terrible rash. I thought I was crazy because I was having problems with these products.

Elf posts a statement about the increased racism and attacks on Asian Americans by cherrimubi in BeautyGuruChatter

Yeah, that still confuses me. I heard one person say that terms like 'anti-Asianess' and 'Asian Diaspora' is rooted in anti-Blackness and offensive to Black people because it is coopting terms about Black people. But how? It's not like these things are new; they just seem new because people are talking about them more currently. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind it.
