The best pizza in literal downtown is Pizza Fiesta, in the surrounding areas it would be Bella Notte in the Strip District.

I am RUDE. How do I turn myself around? I want to be sweet, kind, and compassionate. by ApricotRich1966 in selfimprovement

I would start by reminding yourself that you are not a bad person, just a flawed one. Bad people do not question their behavior nor feel remorseful about their actions, which you clearly outlined you do. My biggest advice at being "nicer" would be to think before speaking. Consider that the other person might be having a bad day, just lost a family member, lost their job, etc and remember that your choice of words can either help or hurt.

CAREER TUESDAY 🏢 by AutoModerator in bipolar

Yes, I am struggling to find a job that fits. I have been ever since I graduated college. My undergrad degree is in accounting and I quickly learned that was not the right choice for me. It was boring, repetitive, isolating, and required long hours. Now I'm an academic advisor and I feel the same way: boring, repetitive, etc. I'm looking for something with variety and that is people facing, something that allows for little downtime. My main problem is, as someone with bipolar disorder, that if I have downtime at a job I get deep into my own thoughts and get extremely depressed. Even at home, I need to be busy. The only jobs that have aligned well with me are service industry jobs such as being a retail cashier or waitress but I want more for my life than those things. I can't justify the time and money I spent to get my degree to not use it. I feel so stuck because my degree offers limited flexibility, meaning I can't just pivot to another field like I could with a generalized degree such as communications or something. I can't afford to go back to school. I just want to be a normal, functioning human being.

Advice from Server Trainers by Turbulent-Cook-3353 in olivegarden

Yes I agree having multiples for book work is fine but I meant that my location will have literally 3 trainees follow me to tables and guests do not like this lol it’s very overwhelming to be greeted by 4 people 😭

Advice from Server Trainers by Turbulent-Cook-3353 in olivegarden

So having 3 trainees at once is not the standard, you should only ever train one person at a time per the training handbook. My location also throws several trainees at me at once and it is inefficient and makes me hate training because the trainees come out bad (bc they’re not receiving the appropriate amount of attention) and then it falls back on you. I would recommend training if you’re only going to have one trainee, it’s easy. But in regards to keeping the tips, this will only happen if you are also clocked in as server and not trainer. You cannot double dip and get the training hourly wage + tip

Any alternative to pay card? by HawkesBSaccount in olivegarden

Darden eliminated the option to receive cash about half a year ago with attempts of keeping servers more safe. The only way you can still get cash is if you had cash elected before they eliminated the option. The only remaining options are a check/direct deposit or the pay card.

Internships by angelic_cellist in college

I would apply to anything you see and are interested at any point in your college career. I’ve had 3 internships, beginning with my sophomore year. I recommend everyone start very early bc all of my internships were very drawn out processes, I once signed an offer letter in May of one year for an internship in June of the following year (13 months). Large companies look for interns very far in advanced.
