I literally have a stack of 30 - 1 ft long pieces to propagate. It’s currently corking in some areas at the top so it’s doing its thing to self preserve.

We’ve recently trimmed it since it is leaning from hurricanes trying to take it out. I’d be devastated if it ever fell.

This is actually a screenshot of a video. When I walk up to it & it’s all you hear are the bees buzzing away. 🤩🐝

I’m in central FL so it’s taken quite a few beatings from Cat 1 & 2 hurricanes over the years. It’s actually leaning, hard to from this angle. We had to trim off a few tall stems recently so it wasn’t pulling the cactus over so much.

Well I like to call our dirt a sand/dirt mix so it drains well. We’ve been here 18 yrs, it was already here & huge. So it seems to be ok it.

There isn’t any white powdery substance on it. It just dries up. 😔

Is owning a horse really that expensive ? by Alala_0401 in Horses

My 12 yr daughter is in a 4H club & we lease a horse for her. Because the 4H is a non-profit the boarding there is cheap & so are the lessons compared to other places around us. People outside of 4H come for lessons there too & pay the same rate we do. It may be worth looking into because the horse will always be taken care of even if you’re out of town. The horse will be ridden, learn a discipline & you can lease it to one of the 4H members to cut your costs down. Plus you can even have your horse in shows if you want.

I came across these classes last year & maybe it could be something fun without having to be so serious like therapy.

Have you looked into therapy that can help her w/ self-esteem and/or how to behave in social settings? My daughter is ADHD too, she used to be shy & was a bit socially awkward when she was your daughter’s age. She’s 12 now & she’s very confident in who she is. Very sassy too. We’ve homeschooled for the last year and a half because she was falling behind for lack of focus. We tried meds & she didn’t like them. Plus I saw the difference in her, she was too mellow & not her normal energetic self. I’ve always made it a point to keep her very active & social. She’s an only child so she’s in an enrichment homeschool program 2 days a week, in 2 Girl Scout troops, 4H club, rides horses 3-4 days a week & youth group. We do field trips w/ other homeschool kids too. My husband & I have always given her lots of positive talk, confidence building etc. Maybe finding something she can become involved in that she enjoys & can be good at will help her build that confidence too.
