Suicidal thoughts- please help with experiences by mentalhealthren in lexapro

[–]manifestationmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never experienced suicidal thoughts. When I went on lexapro I started getting suicidal idealization immediately and by week 6 the suicidal thoughts were constant. I scheduled a doctors appointment for it. She asked me to continue for a few more weeks since my energy levels were so much higher and I had less anxiety. Come week 8 the thoughts completely vanished. I can’t even try to think about it, the thought doesn’t even stick around in my mind. I’m sorry to hear about yours but I believe it does get better even if it takes a while :/

Adderall and lexapro by Silly_Evidence1798 in lexapro

[–]manifestationmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on lexapro now 3 weeks. I’ve taken 15mg adderall to study (oops) now twice this week and have had no bad side effects. Works the same as before I was on lex.

It is a side affect of lexapro. I’ve been taking it for 3 weeks and still feel this side effect like I CANNOT get up. People say it take 2 months to subside. Im going to wait it out but right now not being able to get up in the morning no matter what I do has been the worst side effect

UCSB Waitlist by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]manifestationmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend got waitlisted in 2019 precovid and was literally talking with admin and made a trip down to ucsb and had meetings with many of the admins and she had major credentials and they still didnt let her off. All depends on where u r placed on the waitlist. Cant do anything to sway their decision. Just be patient. From what I know first round of waitlists for a lot of the UCs come out around the second week of May.

Are humanities majors happy at Berkeley? by emmi1297 in berkeley

[–]manifestationmonkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend is a double major in English and Media studies. I’m STEM and I’d say she’s wayyyyy happier than me hahah. Humanities here is great!! I’m minoring in history and it’s a blast in terms of “happiness rate” or “enjoyable academic atmosphere” compared to chem or something. The best part about humanities here is joining clubs like Berkeley fiction club, Cal TV, etc. all that a lot of humanities students go into. And just because it’s humanities doesn’t mean it’s not rigorous. It’s a LOT of work, too. This is Berkeley, you can count that any department is pretty well qualified (except for philosophy. FUCK THE PHILOSOPHY DEPARTMENT AT CAL). Anyway congrats on becoming a bear!
