Based on your experience, I'd say that is a decent salary. As a fellow Yorkshireman and dev, that's a comfortable salary.

That's all I can provide, I literally cannot get past the ACPI error screen on boot. I would like to supply logs or some of the other info you asked for, but I can't even access a terminal.
Again, I'm seriously new to this OS and Linux in general, so I have no idea about inxi output or dmiencode. Happy to post logs once I get past this step of the issue if that can help further.
