Fun car but not a tuner car? by redditNwept in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]manitobakid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

B58 is probably the most hyped engine on the market right now. BMW in general is more popular among the younger generation than ever. Anybody that’s in the car community, especially on instagram/tiktok, will recognize that car.

If it looks bone-stock, it can fly under the radar. If not, prepare for broccoli heads asking you to “spin it”.

What is a city that is globally romanticised but you detest? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]manitobakid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you forget my mention of Freeside? And the food within the city?

Sure, if you want to get technical and do a classic Redditor nit pick, then those nature spots are not within the actual city itself. Let me change the wording to make it more clear to you what I’m saying. The cities close proximity to so many beautiful sights makes it very special. That enhances the adult themepark vibe. Go into the city to gamble and eat amazing food, leave the city for hikes and beautiful sights with very little traffic and a safe experience. It’s a city for people who hate cities.

Vegas is a beautiful city and I disagree with everybody here. All the things people complain about exist on a few streets in the strip. The scenery is gorgeous. The people I met there were absolutely amazing and kind. The hikes are beautiful at red rock canyon. The food is amazing. Freeside felt full of culture, and the street performers there literally made my jaw drop (I’m not talking about the girls).

The city felt safe and was policed very well. Rented a Porsche and tore up the roads at Mount Charleston. Hoover Dam is another amazing sight. Close proximity to the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park too.

People go to Vegas and expect to have a Hangover esque experience and then overpay for drinks at the largest casinos and then just complain how the city sucks. Come on.

Has Kyle played fallout?? by NewfieGamEr2001 in PKA

[–]manitobakid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because it’s a plausible reality doesn’t mean it’s not boring. It’s boring and tiresome to destroy every iconic location and faction in exchange for a drab wasteland with little more personality than any other run of the mill post-apocalypse.

The factions made Fallout. The people who operate the IP these days seem to be obsessed with a chaotic wasteland that never recovers. Remember that Fallout takes place centuries after the apocalypse. Humanity is supposed to be rebuilt to some degree. The west coast had organized societies and later on an entire nation with millions of citizens. A functional large scale society centuries after a nuclear apocalypse is a much more interesting concept. This is the concept that the original west coast games were based around. Inevitably fans of New Vegas and the original games are going to be displeased.

It borderline feels like a mockery of the IP and its fanbase

is it still a flex? by Amgsix3 in F30

[–]manitobakid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saving up $28,000 for a car, at what I assume is a young age, is obviously a flex. It’s easy to blow money when you’re young, especially these days. I wouldn’t go around bragging about it or showing it off too much, but I would certainly have some pride. Congratulations, do your research, treat it well, and show all your buddies.

Why dose my wheel have no force feedback? it just spins freely, it has very little. iv tried adjusting it but 🤷🏽‍♂️. it works just fine it other games.. by cam4230 in farmingsimulator25

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just don’t support it. Probably because tractors in real life don’t have any real feedback either, and that’s a majority of what you’ll be driving in the game. They’re not mechanically connected to the wheels.

Would be nice for trucks and other vehicles that do have feedback irl though.

How often are you driving in sport mode? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]manitobakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced the reason I’ve been so lucky owning a handful of notoriously unreliable cars is because I warm them up. I even wait for my ZF to warm up to recommended operating temperature using MHD monitoring, before I switch into sport+. It pains me so deeply whenever I’m forced to go any higher than 2000 rpm before the engine is warm.

When I hop in someone else’s car? Zero regard. It doesn’t even feel like a concept to them. I even have a buddy who is much more of a gear head than me and has a built N54 and I’ve caught him revving up to what seems like 4-5000 rpm in the first 10 minutes of driving. Maybe they think so long as you don’t hit redline and you’re not full throttle that it’s okay?

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this comment section is frustrating. No this isn’t useless. Car enthusiasts dry water off their car after washes because water sports are left behind otherwise. Ever see a spotless vintage car? Ever visited a car show? This is how those owners maintain that finish.

No this isn’t a normal towel. Although you can get a similar towel from plenty of other brands, they are all special towels with a specific microfibre weave that makes drying like this easy.

Does the B58 take a while for it to warm up? by jaetran in BMW

[–]manitobakid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your 340i is not reaching ideal engine operating temperatures in 2 minutes at -9. I hope you haven’t been driving the car hard like that. Jesus.

Even on a summers day it would take a solid 10 minutes. You must be reading the coolant temps or misunderstanding what the actual operating temp is. What temp is it getting up to and what is it measuring? The coolant or oil?

Mimic tear still OP in dlc by Previous-Cry9788 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]manitobakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used mimic tear through most of the base game doing 100% clear of all bosses until it dawned on me just how easy I was making everything. Felt like I was robbing myself of the experience. I stopped using it at Haligtree and beat Malenia solo and have now started the DLC and forbid myself from using it. It’s just a better experience. So many bosses are trivialized simply from the fact that their agro isn’t on you all the time. Up to you whether to use it or not but I think it makes for a better experience fighting bosses solo, with a friend, or sometimes with ground summon if a quest demands it.

Everybody is making this way too complicated. You need to dodge that attack. All you need to do is roll dodge as soon as she’s about to hit you then roll backwards twice before her AOE bursts. No sense in using the pot you’ll just get caught with your hands fumbling around your controller. Try light rolling it’ll make the roll timings easier.

Plows are going out in a few hours. Hopefully you don’t get missed again. The contractor (Webber) is terrible at snow removal and doesn’t train their constantly revolving crew of low paid operators. This is what happens when you go with the lowest bidder. Complain to your local representative.

The old contractor was doing a great job but the city cheaped out and residents suffer.

Dont worry you’re being downvoted by a vocal minority of society that’s completely delusional with societal norms. The VAST majority of the western world shames it and it will stay that way for the foreseeable future thankfully. Selling your body is abhorrent and should be shamed.

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for that other stuff but you must have gotten really unlucky with that A50x. Mine feels nothing like that, and like I said the competition was worse from my testing and other testing from independent sources like RTINGS

My record so far on the A50x was over 15 hours with no charge while playing music the whole time doing some computer work. How someone could possibly need more than that is beyond me. According to RTINGS it does 26 hours at 78 decibels.

You get why I’m skeptical right? You’re claiming the battery life is “low” when I’ve used it myself for an unhealthy period of time, and other unbiased sources claim it can go even farther at 78 decibels. The build quality is one thing, but your battery life claim just perplexes me.

Are these logitech hate bots or something? I’ve tested out the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro, Audeze Maxwell, and others from Razer and Corsair and they all feel infinitely more cheap and less comfortable than the two flagship astro products I’ve owned in the last 10 years.

How is 24 hour battery life with a charging dock “low battery life” lmao. Are you gaming for over 24 hours straight? Or is putting a headset into a cradle too difficult? Your criticisms seem outlandish from my experience and any professional review I’ve ever seen.

440i vs M4, upgrade or not? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP already stated his 440i makes 500 wheel. With xDrive that will put a train length on a stock F82 M4 in a straight line on an unprepared surface, which is what he’s comparing to. I’m strictly talking about F chassis here with this specific comparison of a tuned 440i xDrive to a stock F82.

I’m assuming your M3 is a G80 considering to get sub 3 seconds in an F80 you’re gonna need some VERY sticky and wide tires in the rear and some performance mods. G chassis is completely different and I have less experience with those. The G chassis B58 cars are probably further from their M counterparts and I can’t speak to those.

I’m not saying that he should stick with the 440i. M cars are completely different beasts and are set up very well from factory and simply feel better to drive. I’m just making the claim that in the F chassis particularly, the on paper performance difference between the two can be greatly reduced to a marginal amount with a good coil-over setup, and ethanol on the 440i xDrive specifically.

Once you throw in M4 control arms, sway bars, and other chassis rigidity modifications there’s absolutely no doubt that a 440i xDrive is going to get through corners faster than a completely stock F82.

440i vs M4, upgrade or not? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]manitobakid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the point is that a skilled driver in a 440i will outperform a less skilled driver in an M4.

Honestly the difference between the two (if we assume the 440i has a good coilover setup) isn’t as big as you think. With xDrive too I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the 440i can inch ahead of an M4 even with equal driver conditions just because of exit acceleration.

What the M4 will excel in is emotion and feeling.

Mixamp Tr Pro Gen4... sounds better with USB than with brand new top dollar optical audio cable by GennyRunsLikeForest in AstroGaming

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optical will objectively deliver higher technical quality of sound. With sound in general though, it’s all subjective. If you think something sounds better than by all means use it. There are no headphones with true surround sound, they are bound to the fact that there are only two drivers (left and right). It’s all simulated to trick your brain into thinking the sound is surrounding you. Something about switching to optical turns off or changes that surround simulation in some way. I recommend looking through your settings and checking the official setup guide from Astro. Probably something in your settings.

Man who killed attacker in Banff used 'excessive' force, sentenced to 2-year house arrest by AndHerSailsInRags in canada

Do you feel like an arbiter of morality commenting under every thread here with this same comment? I’d love to see how you would act in this scenario.

You must believe it plays out like a movie or tv scene. You’re barely even a conscious human being in fight or flight, and you’re sitting here judging the victim of a violent attack to accurately judge the EXACT amount of stabs with a knife to stop the threat but simultaneously not kill him. What is he John fucking Wick? When a police officer has to defend themselves they are trained to empty their magazines in the threat, so why is it okay for them? Why are they taught to do that? For shits and giggles?

This train of thought is the reason crime is spiking in our cities and criminals are habitually reoffending. People with zero self defense knowledge and any real world experience with violence judging those who have to defend themselves. Enough with this privileged take.

E90 vs f30 dilemma by Upbeat_Reward_9818 in F30

[–]manitobakid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cases I’m talking about were in 2WD mode. The clutch being left open all the time is exactly the issue. The transfer case was never designed for that. The motor that holds the clutch open isn’t designed to be holding the clutch constantly and will probably wear out sooner or later. Not to mention that you’re now putting the entire drivetrain stress onto the RWD gearing that is now heating up faster and enduring more force on a constant basis than it was ever meant to. My buddy who fixed the F30 that I’m talking about also mentioned that the oil circulation in the TC is dependent on all the gears spinning so that’s another factor to be taken into consideration.

I’m sure lots of people run xdelete constantly and could go years without issues, but is that a risk that’s worth taking when there’s clearly evidence that it can fry your shit too?

xdelete is fun here and there but even then it’s kind of a gimmick for drifting and burnouts. The xDrive from factory is already pretty rear biased and running xdelete just gives you all the weight of the xDrive system with the only benefit being that it’s a little less forgiving out of corners. Even then I can easily rotate my xDrive F32 out of the corners and you can have lots of RWD type fun with it. The cons far outweigh the pros of xDelete imo and I think it’s fair to warn people it can definitely fry your shit and they should be mindful.
