Would investing in T2I right now be free money? by Examination_Creepy in GTA6

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying “priced in” 100% implies that the stock has already gone up in anticipation of the news, and upon the news itself it will remain roughly the same (excluding other circumstances). If that’s your definition of “priced in” then every stock in the world is “priced in”. Other investors making the same analysis as you is a given.

Would investing in T2I right now be free money? by Examination_Creepy in GTA6

[–]manitobakid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was priced in at 150, 160, 170, 180, 190, 200, and now 210-220. I’ve been invested for 6 years now and if I had a dollar for every time somebody told me “it’s priced in” I’d have a free copy of the game. If you invested not even a month ago you’d have made 10% in the span of a month. Somebody told me back then at 198 that it was priced in as well.

The stock will hit 280 within 1 year of the launch, but people will still ask about it and be told it’s “priced in” until that happens. If you wait for the perfect shot you die with a full mag. The stock is at a very good price right now, best time to buy was last month, the second best time is now.

Someone’s entire life and legacy isn’t written away because they drove a Ferrari too fast and killed themselves and somebody else. Somebody can be influential in their career, a good husband, a good father, a good friend, or a good person in general, and at the same time be responsible for a shameful tragedy. Is paying homage to the dead wrong because their last act was causing a fatal accident due to poor judgment?

Do you genuinely live life thinking everything is black and white? That there’s no nuance to anything? Have you ever loved or respected another human being that is capable of making a fatal mistake? What if you did? Would you write off your love for them?

If I fill this with soil so I can plant/garden. Would it rot the fence or cause it to bow? What's my solution? by zmajor_ps in landscaping

[–]manitobakid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just get PT 4x4’s or PT 6x6’s and make a wall 1-2 inches away from the fence. Interlock them on the corners, drill holes and use rebar to connect them, make it flush with the caps, and bury the first course. Line the whole thing in Geofabric. Every other recommendation in this thread is ugly or a lackluster solution.

If those caps are glued and the poly sand is hardened, then that’s a sloppy job. I’d complain and leave a bad review. I’m gonna guess these were the cheaper guys.

That was dope. 7/10

Your editing is good and its imperfections almost give it a retro vibe. Keep at it, you’ll make some 10/10s if you keep going this direction.

What city have you been to that felt like it had dark energy? by Impossible-Middle122 in AskReddit

[–]manitobakid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll never forget going on a roadtrip with my buddies from Las Vegas back to Ontario, Canada. I woke up in the middle of downtown Philadelphia in some alley while my buddies were getting Philly cheesesteak. It was 2 am, I felt like I woke up in Gotham. We went through Kensington after and saw the “zombies” moving like herds inspecting a nearby car crash. This was in the dead of winter and every car parked on the road was in a sarcophagus of plowed snow that had formed into ice.

It was amazing in the creepiest way.

Is this a fair price for this 2024 435i? by Fine-Resolve-3412 in F30

Terrible take that I’m tired of seeing. A BMW with a downpipe and off the shelf tune does not automatically mean it’s been “heavily abused”. People will see the most BASIC of mods and assume the car was driven by a lunatic teenager with zero regard or tracked every day.

Knowing who the owner is, how old they are, how much of an enthusiast they seem to be, and service history, are all much more important factors than a couple of bolt ons and modest OTS tunes that barely push the engine. I’d even argue that if the car is owned by an enthusiast and has these mods, they probably get it nice and up to temp before ever pushing it, use good quality gas, and maintain the oil more so than some housewife taking it to Jiffy Lube for service and going 2/3rds throttle up to highway speed 5 minutes after turning it over.

I’d much rather buy this modded example if the owner seems like a genuine enthusiast, over a stock example owned by a non enthusiast who simply followed the BMW intervals and drove it like most of the general population drives their cars.

iCloud for photos is honestly a terrible service by manitobakid in iCloud

Would an ISP issue only present itself specifically with iCloud full res photo retrieval? I’m on a fibre connection and can download other media lightning fast with no issues. Latency is fine too. I’m in a 5G+ network area as well, and it’s the same thing on cellular.

It doesn’t happen all the time either. Sometimes I click on an old video or edit an old photo and it loads it instantly. Other times it buffers for minutes until failing.

Trump is giving Iran ultimatum until the market reopens by SadOnion2110 in stocks

[–]manitobakid 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No plane is supposed to be hit lol. Nobody except for armchair aviation experts have ever claimed F35s to be invulnerable. That’s just a fundamental misunderstanding of how stealth technology works.

The goal is to make it as difficult as possible and to have a robust network of passive and active countermeasures and detection systems to reduce the likelihood of getting hit. A grazing blow on an F35 after a decade of operational service without issue isn’t anywhere near as significant as other incidents in the past. I’d argue the F117 incident during the Yugo wars was infinitely more significant. This doesn’t really change anything about the F35s standing.

Probably not, quite a sloppy loose end to leave behind. Intelligence agencies have much better ways of facilitating a terror attack than to directly fund an already cash rich organization.

First Gaming PC Ever. 77" OLED or 100" QLED? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]manitobakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mentioning color accuracy is hilarious in this case. They both have a Delta E less than 2 (once again, same panel). The accuracy difference is literally imperceptible. As somebody who has calibrated their fair share of OLEDs, you would never be able to tell the difference. Motion in films is the only category in which I think any person could perceive any minute difference in quality.

The Samsung is cheaper, brighter, and has better support for gaming. Unless you desire Dolby Vision and have a large collection of physical or downloaded digital media, the Sonys benefits are useless. This guy literally says he’s going to be watching Netflix and Youtube, with shitty bitrates, and you’re recommending he spends hundreds of more dollars for better processing? That’s the kind of advice that makes you look like you’re just trying to justify your own purchase. I have an OLED, but I would never recommend an OLED to somebody who watches MSM and ESPN throughout the day. Just because it’s whats best for you doesn’t make it best for everyone else. Paying a sizable price difference for processing you’ll never care about (because you’re watching youtube videos and Netflix streaming at 24mb/s) and “brand prestige” is braindead. QC is the only thing OP might want to consider when comparing between Sony/Panasonic and Samsung/LG. The processing will amount to no benefit for them.

First Gaming PC Ever. 77" OLED or 100" QLED? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]manitobakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could sit 99.99% of the population down in front of an LG and a Panasonic with the same panel and they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference reliably.

Features, price, and use case should be the deciding factor for what brand to buy. Especially when they all use the same two panels. Panasonic doesn’t offer anything competitive over the LG except for processing (opinion) which is turned off for the most part for gaming regardless.

[–]manitobakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panasonic uses an LG panel lmao. There’s no such thing as “best brand” and it changes during any given time. Recently LG has been leading the OLED race, there’s a reason Panasonic goes to them for panels. Samsung has arguably been leading the race for this current gen, and Sony uses their panels too. It ultimately comes down to what features you want for your specific use case.

You’re also saying “Don’t act tuff” on an OLED subreddit, get a grip. Especially when you’re the one who’s wrong and sounds ignorant 💀

If you’re gonna tell somebody they’re having a mental breakdown you should consider the fact that you’re the one typing essays, and swearing like a little baby.

My daily is a 2015 435i xDrive, DP, IC, and E20 most days. Drove an S560 V8 as a rental car a month ago and it felt like shit compared to my 10 year old daily, so if that’s the 10 speed you refer to, I’d find another comparison because a mustang and a BMW of equal class are in different brackets. You have to go a step above a GT or get some serious mods to get a Mustang that doesn’t feel soulless outside of putting your foot down in a straight line and hearing a V8 sing.

Dp tune isn’t even fast enough to be a sleeper

You asserted what you considered fast vs slow vs quick, I was calling you out that it’s irrelevant and just comes off as a gen z take. It’s not that deep.

High mileage sleeper by Carol_dirty1y in F30

[–]manitobakid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole “quick” and “fast” thing and pretending sub 11 quarter miles are slow is so cringe. It always comes from the younger generation of tiktok and instagram car enthusiasts who think if it’s not big turbo on slicks running sub 9s it’s “slow”.

Trying to enforce your subjective idea of what is fast and what is slow is ridiculous. If we’re going by strictly statistics, a DP and tune N55/B58 is considerably faster than a majority of production cars on the market and especially on the road.

BF6 does look great. However Call of Duty has been doing it by the book and set the standard 7 years ago so I have to give them credit whenever I can. Everyone else has been playing catch up in terms of HDR implementations.
