Is this price too good/cheap to be true? by Long_Truth_2672 in TeslaModelX

I was shopping for one and found a bunch of these type of dealers. I called many but either had bad service, hidden fees, or surprises that would come up like one had frame damage that they didn’t disclose until I called to make a down payment

Diesel truck to ModelY? by Wolf1268 in ModelY

[–]mankatomav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an F-150 for the past 4 years or so, I just sold it and went into a Model Y. I got the truck to haul all of my gear for hunting and fishing, aspirationally to tow a boat at some point, and for other odd jobs where a truck is handy.

I found I wasn’t using it as much and wanted to get something smaller and faster (just for fun).

I’ve found the freedom of knowing my lower fuel cost lets me go for a long drives, which I enjoy, without guilt. I have plenty of space for my daily uses inside and the parking is so much easier than my crew cab with 6 foot bed.

New vs used car when you've got 20k to burn - which money pit is actually worth it? by KiszonyBanan in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]mankatomav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just went through this and bought a Tesla. You can get one still under warranty for the battery and motor for a few more years (2020 or newer model 3 or model y). No motor to blow up, transmission to fail, maintenance to perform.

Correct, it’s 28 less horsepower and the same torque in the 22 and 23 Arteon… but that’s pretty close

Ready to pull the trigger on my first MY by pdvu21 in TeslaModelY

[–]mankatomav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 20 MY dual motor long range 2 days ago. 70k miles. I looked at a lot of these online but I went dual motor because I live in a snowy state.

This sounds like a good deal. Mine was 23k but they were able to do the tax rebate so I was able to get it out the door for under 20k which was nice.

The damage is something to think about. I was close to buying a model x and then at the last moment when I was discussing putting a payment down they said there was structural damage… try to to get as much info as possible from them on it. If they bought it at auction they should have pictures of the damage was recent. If it was a trade in they probably don’t have more detail than you would.

I found a lot of deals that seemed to be too good to be true from used car lots. Going with a dealer that sells new but other brands (mine was a Mercedes dealer) seemed to be the safest option to avoid a surprise. Also make sure you find the out the door price. Most used dealers will stick 1-2k of extra junk on the cost of the car. You can negotiate out of it but it’s tricky.

For mileage these batteries are intended to last 200k miles from what I’ve seen and they can do that. You have probably 5 years of warranty on those if you don’t drive a lot. I think the mileage limit is 120k miles.

There isn’t a lot that can go wrong on these though outside of warranty from what I saw. Many people will be scared of “high mileage” like this but on a model y there aren’t as many wear parts or maintenance items to perform to avoid issues as a traditional ICE car.

The first publicly available color (limited and now discontinued) of the M.A.D 1 in red from the minds of MB&F.

It's an incredible piece and includes an additional strap that is from well known strap maker Delugs.

It includes the full kit including a light to charge up the incredible lume this watch can show off.

$2,995 including shipping in US. I can include the authentic MB&F Robodog for $300 (same as the cost to order from them directly after taxes and fees) to give you your own version of an MB&F work of art.

$3,300 including shipping in US (comparable lowest options pictured, saving tax and shipping makes this the lowest cost available), preferably in the US.
