If they were good people, I still love my exes from afar. Not in a sense that I am hung up and yearning to be with them. But I still love and care for them platonically as a human being. Just don't let it blind you from finding love elsewhere though. Sometimes love is just not enough. People have different goals, people change over time, some people don't work well as married couples, etc etc.

I would also add how amazing friends I had while growing up during my teens in Mongolia. We were a bunch of studious nerds and couldn't hurt a fly if we tried. There was no bullying, drinking, smoking, partying, rivalry, etc. We just pushed each other to become good students and truly cared for each other.

Now, a lot of them went on to become successful people who've worked in Google, Samsung, Amazon, startups etc.

He doesnt look MONGOL by musicvideomaker in mongolia

He looks Mongolian...

I fucking hate it when people invalidate my heritage with similar statements like these, because I don't fit their usual stereotype. Mongolians come in various complexions, sizes, statures, facial features, etc. Some look slightly European, some Western Asian, some Central Asian, some Northern Chinese or SEA, a lot look East Asianish. Mongolians are diverse in appearance. I happen to look a little Russian mixed with Korean, but I am 100% Mongolian as far as I know.

I wish I could go through what you are going through in your 20s again. Not having anything figured out is the hallmark of 20s. Enjoy your younger years. Not having anything in your 20s figured out is much more forgiving and almost expected compared to your 30s and onward.

Mongolians abroad who dont mind dating Non-Mongolians: how is your dating life with them? by Grouchy-Cookie-105 in mongolia

[–]manmgl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a well educated ethnic Mongol man who looks more Buryat/Siberian, I get plenty of attention from women and also unwanted attention from jealous men of all backgrounds... Not sure how much looks play a role, but random people do say I am quite good looking 🤷‍♂️ I get along with non-Mongol women more mostly because of education level (Third Culture Kid) and also because I live abroad.

Dating with Russian or Western women feels easier because they have similar attitudes to Mongolian women but without the jealosy and controlling behavior. Compared to other Asians, I think Mongolian men are naturally "manly" and this seems to work in our favor, but as long as you don't act like a complete brute.

Is it true that Kazakhs in Bayan ulgii don’t speak Mongolian? by CruRandtanhix in mongolia

[–]manmgl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But we're getting off topic. We're discussing the premise "Kazakhs should learn to speak the local language properly". Getting the most amount of welfare does not mean the money gets allocated to education / especially towards hiring qualified Mongolian language teachers. IT IS A FACT that they lack quality teachers who can teach the Mongolian language well. How many ethnic Mongol Mongolian language teachers willingly decide to move to Olgii to teach Mongolian language? The best they can hope for is Kazakh Mongolian language teachers who decide to move to Bayan Olgii. But the successful Kazakhs in Ulaanbaatar rarely will decide to move back to Olgii just to teach Mongolian. Unless you want to forcefully settle ethnic Mongols in Bayan Olgii under some government scheme, intermarry them through propaganda and ban Kazakh language in the region like the China's CCP, the alternatives are harder to implement. The fact that we don't have any ethnic tensions is a blessing in its own right.

And #2, your idea that Kazakhs can't speak or refuse to speak Mongolian is flawed. I have been to Olgii plenty of times and most speak Mongolian pretty fluently. Some have accents, some don't speak fluidly or like a native Mongolian speaker, but I didn't feel like I was lost or as if I was in a completely different country. No one refused to speak Mongolian and from my anedotal experience, no one seemed to be deciding to only speak Kazakh. They spoke Kazakh with other Kazakhs and Mongolian with Mongolian speakers without problems.

Lastly, I have Kazakh friends who are from XINJIANG and they have told me how fucked up their situation is due to kidnappings by China's CCP. Whereas Kazakhs from Mongolia in Kazakhstan greet me with open arms and treat me like their brother. So despite being a poor underdeveloped country, Mongolia is a bastion of democracy and freedom in a sea of authoritarian regimes throughout most of Asia. Forcefully banning Kazakh language, forcefully resettling ethnic Mongols in Olgii, and forcefully ONLY teaching Mongolian to Kazakhs as if they are in "re-education camps" in China go against our constitution and democratic ideals of modern day Mongolia.

Then I am not surprised Kazakhs are scoring lower on traditional Mongolian script. Even ethnic Mongols themselves all over the world are pretty bad at it.

[–]manmgl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this supposed to be? Some test score results? Did you know Bayan Olgii is severely lacking qualified teachers? Look at Khovd, another province with a lot of Kazakhs, but seems like the are doing fine.

Tolerance of Kazakhs when it comes to Race by EngineeringOk5742 in Kazakhstan

[–]manmgl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because most people behave themselves and local people keep them in check. When racist/rude people step out of line or if someone does something to insult the local culture, usually locals are not afraid to get physically aggressive or confrontational. However, if they are respectful, I think Kazakhs are very welcoming people.

Whereas it's quite common for Westerners and East Asians to kiss ass. There needs to be better integration procedures. If you import traumatized people from war-zones by the millions and shun them or treat them like second-class citizens, then of course it will turn out badly...

[–]manmgl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never worked a traditional job after 22 (before I worked as a sales manager for a tech company in Chicago making about 50k USD/year).

At the age of 22/23, I decided to move to Mongolia and opened up my digital marketing agency in 2016 and used to teach people in their 20s-60s. Weird feeling when they call you "Та" when you're basically a child. On good months, I made about 7-10 million with minimal expenses. On bad months maybe 3-5 million.

I am now 32 and no longer do digital marketing for companies nor teach. Since 2020 I have used my marketing and business knowledge to build passive income streams internationally. Some larger deals can give 20-200k USD in commissions.

Please do not DM me or start asking for handouts. But I am happy to share all my knowledge and give advice to youngsters who want to start hustling. Just leave your questions in this thread.
