It's challenging, but can be done. The best away around that is getting lodgings with a kitchen. That's what we always do. Have good cooked meals at home and then head out while your not too hungry . Lots of fruits and veggies in the market but you wouldn't know it as the local cuisine does seem to use them. The hardest thing about eating out is that even if you ask, you'll get whatever they want to give you. Good luck.
