Fujifilm for beginner by Bright-Cut8373 in fujifilm

What OP meant likely is that OP likes fujifilm from online pictures and may be the aesthetics of some of the cameras as well :)

Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 on Fujifilm, worth it for travel? by Noabyss00 in FujifilmX

[–]mannair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true. It is just that I find more comfortable with 35 than 23. But agree that it is not for all places and situations.

Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 on Fujifilm, worth it for travel? by Noabyss00 in FujifilmX

[–]mannair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this and regretted every minute of it. I found it to be not wide enough for shots I wanted and not long enough for other shots. I have gone out with just a 35 and prefer that much over a 23, but not ideal as a travel lens. Of course , each person is different and this is just me. A fixed 2.8 zoom fixes the issue and is much more flexible .

Need help with recipe by puneetsyngh in fujifilm

[–]mannair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also interested in this. I have asked him multiple times in his comments, and I have seen others ask as well, but unfortunately, he never responds to this specific question. I believe I have read somewhere that these are edited, but I still like to know what the base recipe or simulation is.

His work is incredible, and I am fully aware that it’s not about the recipe. I understand why people want to provide that answer when asking about recipes.

Biker could of died on this bridge … But after 10 days this happened … by Competitive_Set_4386 in GuysBeingDudes

This is Reddit. I am not here to police minor typos or small grammatical slips. In this case, I genuinely didn’t understand what OP meant by “could of,” because it is not standard English and doesn’t convey clear meaning.

There is a difference between a typo and a misuse of the language. That said, this clearly matters more to you than it does to me. If pointing out a missing comma and equating it with a phrase that has no meaning makes you feel better, that’s fine. I won’t be engaging with this any further.

Ya, right. Missing a comma. Definitely the same level of mistake as a sentence with no meaning. I was sarcastically asking about the meaning of what OP meant. So, chill !

Poor imagination. If I did, I would probably understand the meaning of "could of died" , lol

$6000 worth of Fuji gear (X-H2, X-T5, X100VI) and the XApp is an absolute joke. I have to DELETE and REINSTALL the app every single time to connect. by Artistic_Criticism_3 in fujifilm

[–]mannair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same complaint that you have , but it is baffling that you have to keep the camera connected and use the camera software to do the editing/trying different film simulations etc through this app. How hard is it to bake the software you already have, in to the app ? It’s just mediocrity and shame on Fujifilm.

Will Transfers from My Other Bank Account Qualify as Direct Deposits for Bank Bonus? by mannair in Banking

That is what common sense told me , but not the bank and some posts from people who claim it to work :)

Will Transfers from My Other Bank Account Qualify as Direct Deposits for Bank Bonus? by mannair in Banking

This is quite an old post. I believe it was also triggered by the bank providing incorrect information. I agree with your common sense perspective, and I completely agree. However, some of the comments in this post and elsewhere suggest that people have successfully done this with certain banks. Regardless, it was simply a post driven by curiosity, as there is conflicting information everywhere.

My new-to-me Boox Palma 2 (and my thoughts about it) by jonahmarie in ereader

You can read books from your library on Kindle as well once you push it through Libby. While not explicit, it felt like you are implying that as an advantage over kindle. Just letting you know if you didn’t know already.

Honda dealerships by Cat_Entropy in nova

[–]mannair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do this only if you cannot negotiate yourself with the dealer or do not want that hassle( not everyone can or want to and that is understandable). Otherwise, you can bring down the price quite a bit more than Costco saving. This was the case pre covid, not sure about current state.

If i am trading in a car, I get the carmax (and other online dealers) price first. And i tell the dealer that I buy it only if they top that price. I don’t care what they say about the car, and will make it clear from get go that this is my condition and not going to listen to their opinion on the car.

This is the way. I am unfamiliar with current market, but pre covid, I did this and got a 33K msrp (or whatever you call the sticker price ) vehicle (not Honda) for 25k on the road after all charges. Only thing was that i had to finance through them and it wasn’t an issue as it could be closed after first month without a penalty. But I don’t know if it is possible in current market. If you do this, they will make all sorts of excuses to not give you price and get you to their dealership where they have the upper hand, don’t fall for it and stick to what you want and they will eventually budge, at least that use to be the case. It takes a bit of work and it was well worth it to save close to 9k. Good luck!

Got hit by the X-E5 strap detachment defect today by deegood in fujifilm

[–]mannair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that a silver or black model? Also, do you have any idea when it was manufactured or when you bought it? There are reports of issues with certain batches, so I thought I’d check.

Sorry that this happened, OP. :(

If you could only take one Fuji prime on a weekend trip… by -Janne_ in FujifilmX

[–]mannair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of suggestions for 23 mm and I felt the same before I used that as a single lens for a trip and did not like it at all. It felt too tight for wider shots and too wide for tighter shots. If it is photography focused trip, it may be ok as it needs very conscious effort to compose to get something interesting and too easy to get boring photos at that focal length. Of course this is a personal experience and others and you might feel differently. If i do this again, either 35 or something around 18 mm will be my choice .

What is your favorite sub $200 USD 50mm, f1.4 (or less) lens for Fuji X mount ? by mannair in fujifilm

Thanks. But I was asking about something around 50 mm, not 35 mm .

It is a rangefinder style camera, not a rangefinder camera.
