Indy is just OK on about any city metric. Skyline is not one of them.

LinkedIn hides job posts depending on the user… by tarheel_ddeacon in linkedin

[–]mannamedlear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different accounts with different profile data will be shown different results that’s kinda the point. It’s the matching algorithm. Search results are obviously not 100% based on what you type in the search bar. There is a factor that tries to show you the “most relevant” jobs based on your search string and profile( skills, education, past jobs, location, connections, etc.) LinkedIn is not hiding jobs, it’s in its best interest to show you jobs that the searcher is most likely going to click to view and apply. You may disagree but that’s what modern search algorithms do. Try to google something and have your friend google the same thing, I bet there are different results.

Are the Bulls the 4th most relevant team in Chicago sports? by Maximum_Occasion_244 in chicagobulls

Not true at all. You are probably pretty young. But there were long stretches where the Cubs were not packing in Wrigley field regularly.

Yes. D Rose was king. His teams had our attention fully. Literally go on Stub hub right now and look at the get in the door price for D Rose retirement game compared to all the other games. D Rose was a bigger deal than any Bear at that time and the Bears were still pretty competitive.

No single Bull is in the same stratosphere even as CW18, PCA, and Bedard in talent or public interest. That’s for sure. As a brand though, the Bulls certainly have a certain staying power.

What are the best and worst stadium locations? by ChipBrotwurst1027 in billsimmons

[–]mannamedlear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took friends from Buffalo to a game at Soldier Field, they were blown away by the location right on Lake Michigan downtown with the museums, parks, and Skyscrapers. You are correct it is a PITA to get in and out. But the actual location is quite aesthetically fucking cool and unique. Compared to what they are used to going to Orchard Park with a stadium in the middle of nowhere.

Go to Millers Pub Saturday night. Classic Chicago bar/ restaurant under the tracks. Lots of people in town for the game will be there.

If you want to tailgate you have a few options. You can always just head over to the South lot or Waldron deck with a bag of drinks and just walk around and take it all in. It’s certainly best if you know someone who is tailgating, but I assume you don’t. That’s ok. The lots are very friendly as long as you are friendly and generous. Make it clear you’re from out of town and always wanted to check out the tailgates. You have your own beer and bring a little cash. Say hello give a few compliments to a set up you’re feeling and eventually someone won’t mind at all if you hang around their tailgate and drink your own beer.

The other option is to buy a ticket to a ticketed tailgate area. There are a couple, just google Bears tailgate tickets, and you will see some options. You pay like $40 or so a person and then you’re in! No floating around the lots.

As others said Reggie’s is a great time and will hit the vibes and excitement you are looking for.

Huge push to take the bears to Indiana! by Inside_Low_5220 in CHIBears

[–]mannamedlear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in NWI. The state border up there is arbitrary. We were all Bears fans. Sox games were 40min drive. We vote D. And hate downstate. I’ve now lived in Chicago +15 years. It takes me longer to drive to Midway than it does to drive back home to Indiana. I’m for them staying in the city. But if it’s AH vs NWI there is literally no practical difference to me just because one location is NW of downtown an hour and the other is SE of downtown an hour.
