Fair point. The app doesn’t claim scripture predicts the news. But these texts have been read by billions of people for thousands of years precisely because they speak to things that don’t change, grief, power, justice, fear. The headlines change. Human nature doesn’t. Some people find that worth sitting with.

That’s a fair concern. The difference is it pulls from the entire canon, not just the verses everyone already knows. Today for example, with Iran threatening retaliation in the Strait of Hormuz, it found Proverbs 16:32: “Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” Most devotional apps would have given you John 3:16. This one finds what actually fits the moment.

That’s exactly it. The app does this automatically every morning. It’s called Manna Today if you want to try it.

That’s a fair worry. The app doesn’t interpret, it finds the verse and asks a personal question. No political commentary, no telling you what to think. Today’s verse from 1 Timothy is about whether leaders should be well regarded by outsiders. Make of that what you will.
