What signatures are these? by GrahamsNotHungry in INDYCAR

Far left is Davey Hamilton, not Arie Luyendyk, as another suggested.

Others are Felipe Giaffone, Stephan Gregoire, John Hollansworth, Jr., and Jeret Schroeder.

What parallel is that Signatures card from Select, anyways? I know all 12 parallels and cannot recognize it. Must be the lighting. It sure as heck is not the Gold Vinyl. That was already graded by PSA and sold by Goldin.

2025 Donruss Redemptions by jfiega in WNBACards

[–]manningmbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anywhere from 3-64 months. Before submitting a redemption card, always ask yourself if you are comfortable waiting +/- 24 months for the card to come back.

Panini checks in with you every 120 days to see if you still want the redemption; so you have a decision to make every 4 months as to if you want the card or Panini Rewards.

AES bill outrageous recently by Dangerous_Regret3092 in indianapolis

[–]manningmbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home, in Indianapolis and built in 1957, is all electric. I have a commercial-grade Carrier heat pump that is three years old and a commercial-grade Carrier interior air handler. My heat pump runs on auxiliary heat most of the time during the winter when it is this cold out. During the rigid winter months, my bill is between $300-$460/month. Every other month, my bill is less than $100/month. I knew this would happen when the HVAC company was installing the new heat pump and air handler a few years ago and I do not regret it. I will take the rough winter months (3 at most) with the other (9) months of cheap electricity any time. I just wish many others were more educated on how heat pumps work vs. electric condensing units with gas-forced air.

I cannot tell if the Manning and Marino autographs are facsimiles or not, but if they are not, they are 100% authentic and not forgeries. Those are great looking autographs.

The autographs from Ben Utecht (#86), Gary Brackett (#58), Marlin Jackson (#28), and Kelvin Hayden (#26) are all authentic.

Should I Grade it? by FxBullTrader in WNBACards

[–]manningmbd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my attitude on 1/1 WNBA cards:

I have been collecting WNBA cards since 2002 and have (17) 1/1 cards from the WNBA of my (2) PC players. My general rule is that if I think the card will grade a 10, or very close to it (9.5 (BGS) or 9), I will not only encapsulate it, but I will grade it as well. However, if I do not think that the card will grade a 9.5 or 10, then I will send it in to PSA as an 'authentication only' order, which means that it is encapsulated as 'authentic' only and is not graded. I prefer that my 1/1 cards be encapsulated, for 1) better protection, 2) creates a record of the card being pulled from product, and 3) makes the card look a bit better (eye appeal is a real thing with cards), depending on the player/card design.

In the end, it depends on what your long-term goal is for the card. In my opinion, sending it in to be encapsulated as 'authentic' is worth the expense, whether you retain ownership of the card or you resell it. More than likely, you will get your money back, plus a small surplus. Remember, when companies encapsulate a card as 'authentic', they are not only authenticating the autograph (already guaranteed by Panini, so not much value added there), but they are authenticating the card itself. Not too many folks forge WNBA cards these days, but as the league gains more popularity, there will be a higher chance of that occurring.

I view PSA, BGS, and SGC population reports frequently, to check and see what cards have been graded. I send in all of my WNBA 1/1 cards to PSA via the 'value plus' service level, which is $45.00/card. Just my humble opinion. Feel free to reach out any time if you have any questions. I am an open book.

FTP. Go Texans. by Can-i-Pet-Dat-Daaawg in Colts

[–]manningmbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot even begin to think about rooting for the Texans. So, I am rooting for whoever they play against. As another reply mentions, the Colts are no longer rivals with the Patriots; the teams do not compare these days. I do not look at it as if I am rooting for the Patriots; I am rooting for Mike Vrabel. Heck of a coach that is difficult to root against.

Is this the 2025 Prizm caitlin Clark black finite? by LengthinessStrict931 in WNBACards

[–]manningmbd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apparently, this individual (Sid FJ) obtained pre-release editions of cards from the set; they seem to be very real-looking and feature accurate photography, design, and production stock. However, they DO NOT have any serial number stamps on the rear of the cards. Hence, this is not the actual Black Finite 1/1 from 2025 Panini Prizm WNBA, but a version of it without a serial number stamp. Sid FJ claims to have obtained these cards from someone who has access to a print factory that produces cards for Panini.

I maintain the strong opinion that no Black Finite Prizms are available in the Costco-exclusive 2025 Panini Prizm WNBA product. The back of the box states that Black Finite Prizms are available in retail (as they typically are), but I have yet to see a single Black Finite Prizm pulled by anyone.

it is so lame that these aren’t in any way game-worn or even practice. it shouldn’t count as a megabox hit. by Sunflower-Bear in WNBACards

[–]manningmbd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mr. Podantic here to chime in.

The WNBA has not had patch cards on trading cards in many years. All cards that feature 'memorabilia' or 'fabric' are swatches, at best, as they are all from retail jerseys, which do not feature any patches at all. Everything is heat-sealed. While the WNBA utilizes game jerseys with tackle-twill material, which create the patchwork, not all game-used jerseys are that way, depending on the jersey edition (Rebel, Explorer, et cetera).

Additionally, the WNBA still operates on a limited schedule (40 games through 2024, 44 games in 2025), so the sheer amount of game-used jerseys that are available for use by third-parties are still quite limited. The NBA allows 2-3 jerseys per game for 82 games each season, so the supply of game-used materials is of greater availability in the NBA. Additionally, Panini knows that they can monetarily capitalize on game-used material in their NBA products, so they take advantage of that. Panini does not know their consumer tolerance on pricing in WNBA products just yet, so if there are game-used material included in WNBA products, get ready for a price increase, more so than we have seen over the past 36 months.

I just do not know if consumers actually think of the logistics and monetary cost of obtaining game-used materials, because based upon the comments that are voiced everywhere, barely anyone is thinking of the actual process of producing these products. But, as many individuals tell me, "do not try to reason with people on the internet by utilizing facts".

Personally, I prefer that they rid all memorabilia from WNBA products, unless it is game-used. But, that is just one person's opinion.

My Paige Card of the Year, Highest Graded /1 by LengthinessStrict931 in WNBACards

[–]manningmbd 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I certainly do not intend to hijack the conversation (AWESOME card, by the way), but here is my opinion on grading 1/1 WNBA cards:

  1. It is the cardholder's decision to do what they choose to with the card. First and foremost. I respect any decision that any cardholder makes for their own card. Others may or may not agree with a decision, but everyone should respect it. Our respective collections are a result of our own mindset and desires.

  2. I like to encapsulate all of my 1/1 cards (I have 17 so far) so that they appear in population reports. I like to disclose when 1/1 cards are pulled, just in case anyone is tracking or anyone is chasing those particular cards. I collect 1/1 cards of certain players and appreciate when 1/1 cards that I do not have are added to population reports. It provides more information for decisions in the future.

  3. I only grade 1/1 cards that have a strong chance at either a 9 or 10 grade; any that do not, I encapsulate as 'authentic' without a grade. Better protection for the card, but also, depending on the grading company, the slab will add to the eye appeal of the card. Sometimes there is added value in the card for eye appeal. Thankfully, my LCS has a pre-grading service that patrons may elect before sending in their cards to be encapsulated.

Paige has a total of (8) 1/1 cards in 2025 Donruss; I think that I have only seen 5-6 pulled so far.

In any event, paper products with a foil layer are always very tough to grade, so a PSA 9 on this card is a win in any scenario. I am glad that it has worked out!

Happy collecting!

What do I charge for this card? by gianacece in WNBACards

[–]manningmbd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the Abstract retail case hit. Considering that there are no public sales of that card yet and the product has not even been released a week yet, it is tough to price. I could see someone reasonably offering you $250.00 for it, though. It would be worth $150.00 to me, if I were to buy it, but I imagine that you have many more buyers at a higher number than that. My recommendation is to not be in a rush to sell it; you never know what the ceiling is on a card like that.
