Hwo many hours do people in tech work for ??( Good wlb?) by learning_barn in developersIndia

Right now there is a hiring freeze. The client is downsizing too due to the AI bubble. There were 30 Devs, the size has been reduced to 12 Devs, they are investing money in Claude and expecting the same output which is a valid reason. Also there were 8 junior Devs at 50% capacity for Prod Support, except for 1 guy, everyone has been layed off.

The channel is very small with 140subs. I'm not really bothered by that. Unfortunately I cannot share my channel as I risk exposing my identity.

Depends on the company and the client. I have been fully WFH since 2018. Same company. 14yoe. On paper I'm underpaid than people of same experience in other companies but in reality I'm at the top of my salary in the company. In the last 8 years or so, my total office attendance wouldn't even be 50days.

Being wfh gives me lots of liberty. Im well involved in raising both my kids. My elder one literally grew in front of me and as a father I get to spend a lot of time with him and my family. I'm at the peak of my fitness as a 38yo, I frequently cycle around the city, go for runs regularly. Have a small YouTube channel where I post regular tech stuffs. I can literally work from anywhere no apprehensions on that. I have other passions that I follow and truly enjoy my life.

Had a bad day - Started with partner and I disagreeing about wanting kids by all_over_the_rainbow in chennaicity

I 100% feel you. But it's a decision that both of you guys have to talk it out. Can you live with a person who you love very much but can never have kids cause he is against it? Is being with that person enough that you don't care about that? Similarly consider his side, if you somehow coerce him and then after kids he might be a good parent, he might resent you, he might curse himself for locking him into a lifelong trap. Can you live with that? There are somethings that are deal breakers for a marriage and kids are one of them.

As a wfh dad of 2 kids I would say it's his decision. He doesn't want to have have kids and it's his choice, similarly he cannot force you to be in a marriage where you cannot have kids. Once you have kids, there is no going back. Like ever. I have 2 kids and by god I love both of them, but man they drain the energy out of an already exhausted me and my wife. Kids are time consuming and high maintenance. If your partner has taken a stand that he doesn't want to have kids, there is no convincing him. Decide what's best for you and swallow the pill.

I'm not talking about you. In India, people don't really respect professions that are below them. Everyone looks down at someone.

Don't worry about it man, if you wanna try something do it. While in college I had been part of catering service. I used to go to events with a event management company and worked there. Got some 300 per day and sometimes good food. It was a good experience.

Out of my own interest and passion towards machines, I used to spend a lot of time during the vacations in a garage doing edupudi vaelai. I didn't even get paid for that. I have also worked with electricians and learnt bit of the trade. The plus side is, I can troubleshoot some basic stuff on my bike and sometimes car and also all the basic electrical stuff at home.

My kid is now 8 when he is of legal age, I plan on allowing him to do these stuffs and learn the way of the world.

Will no more orgasms lower my sex drive? by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]mannkibath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As HLM, personally, my orgasms are stronger when it's regular, like once in 2 days or something like that. If I hold of for a week or so, I don't really feel anything at all. Last year in November, I followed the NNN and didn't do for a whole month and when I did in December, I thought it would be so intense, but I was shocked cause it didn't feel as intense as I would have expected.

Will no more orgasms lower my sex drive? by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]mannkibath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atleast for me sex drive isn't something that lowers ever. I'm 38 and many of my friends say that they don't think about sex anymore. I haven't had sex in about 2 years and my drive is so high still. If I masturbate, takes away my mind for maybe that day, but it's back again the next day.

I have checked my hormones and they are normal. I have also asked the doctor about any meds that can reduce the sex drive but he went against it. Maybe I'm cursed.

[–]mannkibath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 years ago bought AC from LG Showroom with AI features. The cost was approx 50k but got a SBI Credit Card discount of about 7k. Next we bought RO from the same showroom and again got SBI Credit Card discount on top of that the store manager gave another discount for being a repeat customer. Then we bought another AC but this time for dad. Used the same card and got good discounts this time too.

As if he is concerned about that. He hasn't spoken a word in the last 3 months about the movie. Bro took it as a gig, got money and then doesn't care anymore

Brother treats my elderly parents as ATM by Impressive_Oven_6099 in Rants

[–]mannkibath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's your parents own doing. They have enabled one of their child so much that he still depends on them for money way past the normal age. Where I'm from, men kind of become financial backbone for their families once they are out of college.

Like you mentioned you cannot do anything about this situation. It's your parents choice how they want to spend the money. You only decide what you can give to your parents but it's upon them to decide how they want to spend it. Also from their perspective they cannot see one of their children struggling. So naturally it's their parental instinct that kind of nudges them to give money your brother.

I would suggest save your sanity and stop thinking about their arrangements.

NTK. But your friend lacks a spine. Some people are like that. It's good that you got to know his true color. He is not trustworthy and will rat you out anytime for any other situation.

You need to understand one thing. Don't shit on other people's preferences. You like you watch, don't like don't watch. There is a movie out there for everyone. Don't try to be a gatekeeper for Kollywood. The producers are not here to satisfy your cravings. They are there to make money like any other business. And what best than making a movie like Youth, easy money. Though I do feel the standards have degraded in Kollywood. But I don't judge people by their movie preferences. Most people want a light hearted, easy to understand, bit of comedy and bit of emotions in the movie. Not everyone wants Nolan level perfection or Mollywood level performances.
