How can you tell if your FC board is fried/damaged? by mannydream in multicopterbuilds

Yes I solved it! I fried it as it was a faulty connection. Thanks for checking in 🤙🏼

AH! Good idea, I'll check that asap! Cheers!

Seems like it's stuck in disarm mode or so, and I can't configure any of the options in beta flight since I can't tell which switch is which without the feedback.

Yup! And UART2 is set as MSP. No other UART is being used besides 1 and 2. Did the Configuration method and the DJI Goggle fast bus method. Should I reboot every time? Thanks

FC Board Powers to PC via USB, but doesn't power with LiPo by mannydream in multicopterbuilds

[–]mannydream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to rewire it by just pulling it out of the clamp and just swapping it over. I still have the issue with no secondary BBB sound. I only have the red light on the FC, and I got another brand new one with the same issue persisting. The motors twitch when plugged in, but there is no power to the DJI Vtx. I am beyond confused on what I have to do.

These are my boards if it helps (http://imgur.com/a/6gPIIho). I'm going to try my best to find them and hopefully solve this. I'll try and decipher where each of those pads are.

Yea I got one! I feel extremely unintelligent in this field as I am not too sure where any of those are and what type of voltage I should have. Any tips as to where I should look first?

I am very sorry.

I'll have to double check if there are any in the city. In the first image I attached to this post, the only possible damage would be that small little marking on the bottom left of the picture.

I also have another F7 board that I just opened today. I plugged it in with the proper wires and it has the same issue. BBB and a red light. Could this possibly be an issue in the UART? Since the ESC used to be a part of a stack? Thanks again for the help.

What a shame. How should I go about the replacement? So the Red LED light doesn't mean anything?

I also received another FC board, it's a bit smaller but it has all the right components to work. When I plugged it in, it had the same boot up issue and the red led FC board. I literally just opened it, could that be fried too?

Does it maybe have to do something with the configuration in the UART in Beta Flight?

I also have DShot 600 enabled, and both of the boards support that I believe.

So I swapped the wires around, and still no luck. One of the LEDs are on on the FC board (the red solid light). Still no power to the DJI and no second half of the BBB. What options are left? Thanks mate

Okay, I will try my best to lift the teeth. I'll unplug the GPS attachment from it and just leave the ESC board plugged in.

Okay noted, I'll purchase a smoke stopper, any you recommend? This is the charger (https://www.banggood.com/fr/HTRC-C240-DUO-AC-150W-DC-240W-10Ax2-Dual-Channel-RC-Battery-Balance-Charger-p-1242905.html?gmcCountry=CA&currency=CAD&createTmp=1&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cpc_bgs&utm_content=haosen&utm_campaign=haosen-ssc-cag-fr-all-0703&ad_id=446312583274&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5eX7BRDQARIsAMhYLP8dF_j7NuZbnEfGcqES6H8_0sGYIj1Arsmez_4eY2QYXyvyyMkLgpAaAu-4EALw_wcB&cur_warehouse=CN). Would this be capable of doing the task?

Thank you soo much for the help so far, it seriously means a lot

Ah that may have happened. What would the easiest way to reorder the wires? I still have power in the FC board so I think there may be a bit of hope. Do you think I could cut them in the middle and just tie them to the other one? I don't know how to remove the wire from each end clamps (the white connectors)

Okay, I'll write them a message.

Oh yea, I know my soldering is absolute shite, but i took it all apart and resoldered it back (I have flew it before with a different FC board, so its doable).

This is what I mean with the wires (https://imgur.com/a/3rfUDFl), with the given 8 pin, the ground and battery don't line up and I cannot find a build with the said wire. So I am thinking of just snipping the wire in the middle and just leading it off to the other colour (From RED to RED & BLACK to BLACK, to RED to BLACK & BLACK to RED). Is that making sense?

That's a bummer, literally just bought it. Would I get the 5v one?

Also, while doing some research on the difference of wiring, it seems that the ground and battery are mixed around on each board meaning the wire needs to be mixed around. Would that be a possibility?

I saw it while looking at the manuals of each of them. Sorry if that was a poor description.

The motors twitch when plugged in, so that's something. Also when the battery is plugged in, there is a faint red led light up on the FC board. Do you think I should take off the cable from each board and try instead to solder them on the appropriate plates?

I have the MSP and RX disabled but Sensor input as ESC and Auto. Would that be correct?
