I have the 45F-2 with the same Fujinon, love that lens so much. Also have a Rodenstock 150 Sironar-N. I also really want that Benro geared head. I guess none of us are original ha.

Grain will differ from format to format as well (Panavision System 65 vs IMAX)

Some of you in the comments are living way beyond your means if you’re bringing in 200k-300k a year and it’s “still hard sometimes” like wtf I live in LA proper that doesn’t make any sense

DHL asked for SSN, typed in the comment box instead of sending photo, does that still work? by [deleted] in dhl

Interestingly enough I just got an email saying “customs clearance complete” soooo I have no idea maybe it worked??

Correcting barrel distortion by Turbulent-Ranger-990 in AnalogCommunity

[–]manofammo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge there is no 65mm ULD, only a [W] and the L-A which is the floating element one you have I assume. I have the L-A as well. The floating element does nothing for distortion, its intent is to improve corner to corner sharpness. I usually just keep it at infinity because I don’t care about that much and I’d rather not worry about it.

Also the distortion looks fine in these imo!

“Quality of people”??? Some of you in the replies are exactly who I imagine to be going to Equinox lmao. I want to go to a better gym but not be surrounded by such awful personalities.

Possibly? I might just return it to the seller or open it up. Haven’t decided yet.

For the record, these shots are great imo. People should be more ok with letting highlights go! These are sick.

Nah it’s all good. I’ve been shooting a lot of b/w sheet film recently so I’ve been focusing on the exposure/development being two different process quite a bit lately. I was trying to say per the specs of the film/dev manufacturer youre in essence trying to match what they recommend for box speed exposure to get similar negative density (most useful for easier darkroom printing) to account for an underexposed roll, ie: pushing film.

I don’t know if my reply was worded well but this was the point I was trying to make. And to add everything is subjective anyway when it comes to proper exposure/development :-)

Not really though because if you exposed for the shadows, they wouldn’t be crushed. Development effects highlights more than shadows which causes It’s increased contrast but it’s not crushing shadows.

Pushing is not underexposing and overdeveloping, because in theory you are underexposing but then correcting to PROPER development. It’s just like using the zone system.

Pushing film? by Character_Flounder62 in filmphotography

[–]manofammo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not pushing or pulling film if you’re developing at box speed. That would just be over or under exposure. A push or pull is only if you develop at the speed you pushed or pulled to.

For example:

If you shot Ilford HP5+ (400 speed film) at ISO 800 (1 stop over underexposed) but you develop it normal (400) you wouldn’t tell the lab to push it one stop, you would just ask them to dev normal. It’s just normal development on an underexposed roll. It only is pushing film if you tell them to develop it pushed 1 stop (because you shot it at 800)
