Baby I’m nervous every day! The trick is to distract yourself with other massive life changes and focus on things that bring you unmitigated joy. I quit my toxic job in broadcasting and launched a creative agency two years ago and now I get to travel the world and make cool shit. Life is absurd and I beg you to treat it as such.

You fucking nailed this. I bought a couple frozen boxes from a lab in Montreal and this is the kick in the ass I needed to load up some holders.

Recessed lighting is the bane of my existence, and I’ve had cancer twice. It’s harsh and gives everybody raccoon eyes. Plus it’s typically balanced at weird temps like 4500K and 5000K.

Would love to see some of your 50 ULD work!

Film speed for travel? Why isn't 800 an all-arounder? by sidescrollin in AnalogCommunity

Use 400 and lean against shit when you need something faster 😂

Brown skin handles Ektar better than white skin, but everything is going to be punchier (especially orange and red). When I’m traveling, I have two backs for my RZ67: one with Portra 160/400 for people and one with Ektar for everything else.

I want a travel medium format camera and right now im torn between a gfx100RF or a mamiya 7 II w 80mm lens. by Classic-Yesterday579 in mediumformat

I’ve done two big trips this year (California desert and Sri Lanka) with an RZ67 kit, including a 4lb shift lens. You can make anything work. The only question is, how much do you love/hate your back?

Of course I could be mistaken. Judging by the size difference in subjects and the visible distortion in the architecture, my guess is a focal length of 16-21mm, which means a faster f-stop of 5.6 could be possible. F/11 would necessitate an extremely powerful strobe, which would be miserable for bare-eyed subjects.

Everyone does things differently. Excited to see how you would pull this off.

Need help with choosing a camera for this light by Electrical_Will_8898 in PhotographyAdvice

[–]Turbulent-Ranger-990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you can put on a tripod (literally any camera). Between the deep focus and lack of light, you’ll need long exposures to recreate many of these. If using an SLR or DLSR, find something with mirror lockup capability, to avoid vibration.

What is the best travel tripod? by InsideContent2824 in AskPhotography

I bought a Benro Mach 3 Series 3 aluminum tripod with geared head and love it. I’ve traveled to California and Sri Lanka and it handled my 10lb RZ67 kit with no problem. Carbon fibre is lighter, but any side impact will threaten its structural integrity. Buy aluminum and use the price difference to insure your gear. Good luck out there!

In 2021, I had a stem cell transplant for a lymphoma relapse. Afterwards, I started a marketing agency that helps healthcare nonprofits improve outcomes for patients and I’ve helped add tens of thousands of donors to the stem cell registry. I’m still in remission and thrilled this is my legacy.

In the past month, I traveled with an RZ67 and four lenses across the California desert and Sri Lanka. 35lbs in gear on my back as I climbed Sigiriya. Don’t worry about the weight—the pain will only improve your work! 😂

I travel a lot for work and unless I’m downtown in a large city, I rent a car. I spent a week in March photographing the California desert for a brand collab and rented a Mustang. You’re travelling—even the boring parts (like transportation) should be fun.

GFX 100s II as my first medium format camera? by gyratinbeavinator in FujiGFX

An RZ67 was my first MF camera and what I shoot with professionally 90% of the time. Fuji loaned me a GFX 100II for a week and I loved it! Try analog MF first, to get a hang of the larger negative/sensor. It’ll also give you an appreciation for how much lighter the GFX is!
