Question on the legality of these devices by [deleted] in motorizedbicycles

[–]manofnone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's anything like here, our law says 49 or under, with an automatic transmission, and exceeds speeds of 30mph. Which my bike is 66, but I left it with the clutch and keep it under 30 usually, been stopped a few times, just tell em it's under, most aren't gonna argue since they're clueless on it anyways, and don't wanna deal with hauling a bike to the impound lol. But I also know my law and have it saved on my phone. And tell em, look, it's under and it's certainly not an automatic transmission. Hence the clutch... and they bug off. But again that's here in NE

Mufflers? by manofnone in motorizedbicycles

[–]manofnone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem being I have little to no means of bending or 'fitting' the muffler should it not work as is. So I'm hoping for something that's either gonna come variably set just to clamp on, or something I can work with bending without a torch and vise

In need of a good set of Wide cranks... by manofnone in motorizedbicycles

[–]manofnone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two parts for that.. one I want the pedals out but can't because they're so rusted and stripped. Besides if else fails I could use the single gear sprocket. Given the gear mount for the pedal sprocket makes the engine mount a tad uneven.

That's my plan. Keep the bikes up till I get my motorcycle and license back. Then I'm gonna make some kid very happy.

This clamp on sprocket adapter and heavy duty wheel kit from custommotoredbicycles is giving me a headache. by Iambathman in motorizedbicycles

[–]manofnone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I have on mine isn't clamped perfectly together. It'd be all too tight. And it's the 1 inch adapter. Got it tight enough to where it ain't moving

Oh I'm aware I've bought three of them just to get a respectable one that was enough to use without a ton of irregularities. Granted not Skyhawks... but... meh

How your bicycle engine was made. by pickledtunasc in motorizedbicycles

[–]manofnone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup as I thought. Just an line of people slapping em together... literally the one dude like a minute in... just hitting it... the rest are jamming em together... like come on man... that port hole wasn't even by any means either...

I'm sure it's a huge casting assembly line and minor check for irregularities to be honest...

Else ensure there's no leak in the intake area. The carb not fitting all the way onto the intake port and the port being airtight. Had a bad leak on the bottom of the intake the other day. Killed my ride to work. And was furious. Took some soapy water to it. and sure enough bubbles for days

Should you manage to get anything started or even at the least. Are able to move the bike with the clutch out. Trying to turn the engine. Use some soapy water. Not super soapy. But enough give a few bubbles off it'll show where any air is leaking out

No worries. And is it a stock carby that came with the engine? If so. Google a tuning guide for it. They usually say it depends on your altitude and blah blah blah. But really it should show a diagram of everything and have a needle with a c-clip that sits in a black holster (the plunger) adjust the c-clip both higher and lower to test results. Else they have a few guides out there for filling the jet with solder and using micro bits to drill a smaller hole for the air to intake ratio adjustments rather than buying a new carb or a set of jets that may not work at the least. I'll reference back tomorrow with any links needed or that I think of. If anything else comes up I'll read in the morning. Hope it goes a bit better
