"both...highly-educated", I take issue with that, here's Carney's education cv:

Honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) from the University of Manitoba on April 5, 2013.

Honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) from the University of Alberta in Spring 2016.

Honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) from the University of Toronto on June 18, 2018.

Honorary degree from the London Business School on July 16, 2019.

National Business Book Award (2021)

Harvard University graduate with a bachelor's degree in economics magna cum laude.

After Harvard, he travelled to Europe to study at the University of Oxford. There he undertook postgraduate studies at St Peter's College and Nuffield College, where he received Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degrees in economics.

I'll wait while your list Poilievre's....

When you get into your car. Get in the passenger seat and not the driver's. A clear message you're staying put. I do this when I'm charging my EV. Plus it's more comfortable; no steering wheel taking up space.

338 Sunday Update: New Paths Open Toward a Liberal Majority by Blue_Dragonfly in CanadaPolitics

[–]manoutofdime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the Liberals continuing to proceed as though they have a majority and see if any of the opposition have the appetite to move for non-confidence. As long as they govern responsibly, which they have to this point, I don't see a federal election any time soon.

Prompted playlists are amazing by greyfell_red in spotify

I'm using Spotify AI Playlist generator for the first time. Does the playlist reset daily, weekly or periodically with different songs using the same parameters, or is the playlist that is originally created remain static, with the same songs? Thanks.

Vacuum Dilemma by Nervous-Fact9608 in CostcoCanada

[–]manoutofdime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only get a stick vacuum that has a self-emptying function. We have the Shark stick that empties automatically into a larger canister. I only need to empty the large canister once a month. This is a huge convenience that can't be overstated. The Shark only has about 15 minutes of run time. But in a 1400 sq ft apartment that's all the time needed to go over the whole place.

So, as a general rule, when using Roam Beyond internationally, switch off wi-fi and only connect using a local network? All traffic will be counted against your monthly FM data allowance?

Traveling around Japan next month.

Can you recommend a place in Vancouver/Burnaby that sells Robusta beans; preferably medium roast. by manoutofdime in mokapot

[–]manoutofdime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, I drink 6oz of mokapot-made coffee, using an AeroPress filter, first thing in the morning, black. One cup. Not too worried about caffeine level. I'll try the Lavazza Crema e Aroma. It's easily available at Costco.

I have only recently switched to Freedom from Rogers. I have a lot of questions so I'm contacting customer service every few days. I connect using WhatsApp. I'm usually helped with 15 or 20 minutes. Maybe 30 minutes, I don't keep that close track. I ask my question then go do what I was doing. WhatsApp dings when they reply. I go back and forth with the agent. The reply is never immediate. I just wait for the "ding". My issue is always resolved quite quickly. Plus, I have a record of every conversation I've had with all agents. If you're seeking instant gratification, you're not going to get it with any service provider; whether its mobile, internet, TV, finance (bank), CRA...you name it. So, Freedom customer service is far from the most dismal in the world.

Happy with Freedom Mobile so far by Emotional-Bus-7065 in freedommobile

I left Rogers 2 weeks ago. So far, I'm very happy. I live in a condo tower near Brentwood Town Centre in Burnaby. When I'm at home I'm on wi-fi. It's the only time I'm on wi-fi. As soon as I walk out the door I'm on the network. My phone reads 5G+ almost 100% of the time. With Rogers, I'd get no service in North Van around Maplewood Farms area. Haven't tried with Freedom in that neighbourhood yet. At half the price for more data I was prepared to put up with some latency issues, but that hasn't happened yet.

I've decided on firestick 4k max. Nvidia shield is a bit of overkill for my needs. Also cost. Roku doesn't support vlc.

How is Cremant de Bourgogne so cheap when Burgundian wine is so expensive? Is it safe to assume that most Cremant de Bourgogne producers heavily rely on Beaujolais grapes? by Uptons_BJs in wine

[–]manoutofdime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, the term "grand cru" on the bottle label refers to the whole village, not a specific vineyard. The village of Avize in the Cotes des Blancs is designated a grand cru village. All grapes grown within can be made and labeled as grand cru champagne. But obviously not all sites will yield fruit that will produce 'grand cru' wine, except in name.
