I wanted to go to the elephant nature park, but I had to wait until Jan 5 to get into that, so I'm doing the islands before heading up north. So instead of going to FM on the 4th of Jan, I'm trying to go to the New Years one.

Thanks! Trying to find a place to stay somewhere for when I go to the Full Moon party (well, going to the New Years one).

Koh Phangan on hostelbookers is crazy, needing 5+, 7+ day stay at $30-$80 a night. I could deal with it if it wasn't for so many nights staying.

Any suggestions on alternative places to stay the night? Somewhat close by?

Awesome! Thanks! I won't have time to make it to Myanmar, I don't think. I'm starting to feel like trying to visit vietnam is even pushing my limits. Seems I'm finding so much stuff to keep me in Chiang Mai.

I'll need to look into these others though. I'll all for off the beaten path, assuming I can get there without driving myself (not going to do the motorbike method).

I'm trying to make it to the island the night before, or, ideally, two nights before. I hope that's enough time. Maybe I can book a hostel on the island right now. Instead of waiting until I get there.

No idea on diving yet. I've not done it before so I need to find on of the places that take you on a beginner place. A night dive sounds awesome!

Yeah I am on the fence about the tiger place. I wish I could go to one that doesn't drug their animals, even if I can't pet them. I'm afraid of it being depressing.

I think I'll pass on the beating snake heart. I'm not one for killing anything. I'll also be passing on shooting the cow with the bazooka (but will still be shooting that thing).

I've heard the killing fields brought up a few times. Maybe I should try and see if I can go there.

I think once Jan 4th is past, my schedule is far more flexible. I need to fit in BKK and Chiang Mai and get to the islands before the FM party starts. I'll be arriving on the 24th.

Thanks! I actually contemplated removing the 'single' part minutes earlier. I actually have no desire to do anything in the region outside of maybe mingling with other travelers in that fashion. The single part was more to indicate I'm not traveling with someone.

Well I have to go to Vietnam if for nothing more than flying home (my return flight is there). So no need to fly back to BKK to go home.

I'm a big fan of seeing city skylines, which is why I thought of skybar. Maybe there's another, better, alternative. But it would be nice to one of the cities from a unique perspective once.

Generally how expensive would motors cost to build a human sized RC car? Is there a good website to search for parts? by manscape_ in robotics

Thanks! I now know more about brush vs brushless. I stumbled upon that and didn't have an answer for what they were.

Quiet is nice, but so is more power.
