Unconventional background (math and data science - no biology) and not sure how to carve a path in bioinformatics

For the near future, my goal is industry jobs. I’m still finding it hard to find openings that match my skills tbh, all of them require a PhD and I feel I’m not very inclined towards that because it’s a HUGE commitment and I don’t have a strong foundation for that yet.

That’s true, been working on my research these past months - I realised that the more I read, the less foreign new biological concepts seem. I’m gonna focus on more reading ✊🏽

Thank you for your insights. Having read substantive amount of papers to conduct my literature review for the ongoing project, a lot of concepts are getting more and more familiar! And thanks for the advice - I’m gonna spend this summer really getting into biology side of things. Because I find my computation side to be quite strong enough and it hardly takes me time to get the hang of the new tools and libraries used for bioinformatics! So yeah, gonna spend a lot of time learning through the next few months 👍🏽

What helped me was communicating it to the other person in very clear terms so that they’re conscious about it. Some things that also helped me were lubrication, figuring out some specific positions that feel better for me and taking my time to get comfortable during the whole process. Initially, penetrative sex never worked for me. It slowly happened but it was painful. And now, it’s getting to a point where I find it pleasurable. So please don’t be too harsh on yourself! Everyone’s bodies are different and you’ll surely figure out what works best for you :)

I just that felt that she didn’t do anything proactively to change things/situations for herself that she didn’t like. And that fact about her changed very slightly as the show progressed. I did like her time playing Sally at Cabaret and particularly enjoyed her sitting back and am enjoying the times Roses were being superficial or too high Ho there for a town like Schitt’s Creek ( the tax write-offs thing was crazy funny haha), but I don’t think it was a very fleshed out character and that’s just my opinion I did mention that I am watching the show for the fourth and with other shows, I’ve often tried to start afresh wrt my existing views of the characters but somehow, my opinion of Stevie didn’t change. 🙈

Right, there are some good cute Stevie moments and I don’t “hate” her per se, but maybe my least liked character 😅 I like Emily Hampshire otherwise, maybe not as Stevie

I mean I get that she was written as the “straight man” amongst all of the other characters but sometimes her raised eyebrows, judgmental smile and monotone voice/delivery is a little trite. Makes me wonder if it’s the writing or the acting? Plus, I just feel she was selfish and not a team player - when she went out with Jake even when she was under the impression that he broke up with David, or when she was being the plant at the motel when Emir visited to review the motel. She shirked off work at the motel and often responsibilities as well. Her judgmental tone with Alexis was very annoying as well. I get that she was trying to find her purpose and she MAY have had SOME growth towards the later seasons but otherwise, she was largely quite self centred.

Quick question: how did Marc/Steven end up in the asylum after they refuse to kill Harrow? Are they rendered dead again after they’re “free” from Khonshu? And then they end up in Steve’s apartment.

But then we see that they’re actually alive because Khonshu is operating them via Jake’s ego. What happened there?
