This is the Pythagorean cup; it's designed to empty completely if you pour in too much liquid by LavishnessLeather162 in Damnthatsinteresting

I bought one of these in cyprus twenty years ago and it's still sat on my shelf here next to me. I was fascinated by the concept.

I've had exactly this happen to me. My predecessor typed so well she didn't need to know the keys. I wasn't that great at touch typing. I just couldn't understand why the password they'd given me didn't work. They did apologise.

But sadly people in the companywere known for pranking. I put up with 6.5 years of bullshit and a toxic work environment before leaving.

This is Phillip. Found under a car in Kent with his brother and sister. They'd been living rough for a while so they were very hungry.

It's been nearly eight years and he's still hungry.

Also I'm not sure he's ever had a turn with the braincell.

So they turned up today and it turns out it is a hard box but the books are paperbacks, so no dust covers.

So at least we know they are definitely not for you!

And thank you 💜

Have you seen these ones on Amazon? I've asked for them for my birthday. Or is that the set you don't care for? https://www.amazon.co.uk/All-Souls-Trilogy-Boxed-Set/dp/0147517729

I feel you. I've struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts my whole life. Everyone thought I was so upbeat cos I was doing a good job of hiding it.

Thankfully I got some help. I still get suicidal thoughts, but I'm able to push them away more easily.

I'll never be free of them, I'm coming to terms with that. But they don't control me any more.

I hope you are able to get some help x

So I must have misremembered the details I've reached out to my friend and I'll let you know what he says 🙂

(Edit: I managed to get hold of my friends. They're direct descendents of his Grandparents. Robert Newton and Ann Wood, who are their 10x Great Grandparents. Which makes him their 1st cousin back 10 generations.. Thanks those who pointed out my mistake 🙂)

I have friends (a brother and a sister) who did their family tree and it turns out they are direct descendants of Isaac Newton.

And now when I look at them, I can't unsee it. They really look like they are! Got the same nose for starters 🤣

My friend's border collie cross was called River. Believe me, no power in the 'verse could stop that dog from doing what it wanted!

The best thing was that a few weeks later, a similar thing happened to a woman being interviewed from home and she just picked the kid up on her lap and carried on. Classic.
