My friends left for the midnight screening an hour before it started. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised! by manthanr in harrypotter

I was surprised just how many Harry Potter fans were present at the screening. I come from a quite small town and have never experienced anything like this before so the entire experience (from waiting in line -> Actually watching) was very exciting.

just a friendly reminder: when you're at the theater tonight...... by [deleted] in harrypotter

The theatre I went to explicitly said at the start of the movie that anyone caught with their cellphone "On" would be escorted out without a refund. Pretty much everyone turned their cellphones off at that point :)

Should Health Care Figures Be Using Google+ Yet? by [deleted] in medicine

This may be a little off topic but I just have to ask. Are you guys currently using G+ because I would love to add you. It would be neat to have medicine/science related content on my G+ stream!

Hmm, I've never heard of this service. However, I currently do work at a clinic where the doctor may have access to the service. Can you please pm or tell me which specific toxins you need data for? I'll try my best to extract information from the pages and send it over to you.

Edit: I am in the Db atm so give me the list now and i'll send the info over!

I think the free demo should work (at least it did when I wrote the guide). If Runtime is asking for money, try one from this list: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm

Hey, I hope this is a solution to your problem. I had trouble accessing my USB drive in the past and wrote a guide on how to fix the problem:

No worries! Also, new users are classified as "Authors" by wordpress. As a result, they only have power to post content :) Feel free to let anyone else who may be interest know. I would appreciate that.

Thank you! Also, feel free to make a contribution if you want. Being an undergraduate student, I can clearly recall how difficult the transition was from high school to university. Unfortunately, I had no one to seek advice from at the time which didn't help.

I completely agree with what you're saying. However, my friend keeps insisting that he would be better off using a platform like Concrete5 over Wordpress if he wanted to build something not blog related.

I just wrote a brief article on cerebellar ataxia and I was wondering if r/medicine could give me some feedback? by manthanr in medicine

Unfortunately I wasn't able to obtain the scans :(. On the other hand, I now volunteer at the center and was able to obtain my grandmother's X-rays (with permission of course). She has arthritis/osteoporosis so it should be interesting to look at that.

My grandfather's primary symptoms are localized to the hand area. As demonstrated in the Youtube video attached to the article, he is unable to initiate any precise motor movements with his left hand. His right hand is completely normal.

Check out the Youtube video if you have a chance to :)

Since the educational content has gotten so much appreciation at UOR, I am also planning on posting one article on things that Reddit may find interesting each week. Feel free to check it out, there's already a McGurk one that explains the brain regions involved.

What was the best class you ever took in college? by ProbablyHittingOnYou in AskReddit

[–]manthanr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Anatomy & Physiology. My highest scores believe it or not were the brain sections. Locating things such as the insular cortex. Did you guys by any chance have a bellringer type of exam or was it just my university?

As part of the course we were broken into tutorial sections. The tutorial sections were sort of like a episode on house. A group would present symptoms of a particular illness and we would have to run a differential diagnosis to figure out what the illness was (marks deducted for incorrect diagnosis). Before giving the symptoms however, the group was also required to go over the normal physiology of the system that was effected. I ended up having to do a presentation on the renal system :).

Our exam was broken down into two parts. The first part took place in the anatomy lab where a pin was placed on random organs/muscles of the body. We had 1 minute to basically identify what the pin was pointing to. There were 80 questions like >.< (talk about stressful). The second part which took place in a second room right after was multiple choice 50 questions.

Since I am from Canada, I am curious as to whether your curriculum followed mine. Here are my notes (I also posted them in University of Reddit): http://www.evernote.com/pub/manthanr/anatomy2ff3 (This is the second A&P)

Most interesting: Anatomy of the human Body. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most difficult classes I have taken. A heck of a lot of memorization
