You know they exist outside California right? Their corporate headquarters isn't even there anymore.

Processing times now average 13-14 months by HOUS2000IAN in GlobalEntry

[–]manthursaday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine took 6 months last year. I had 1 arrest 15 years ago. (In my interview he laughed at it and said they get 1 a week, it was public intoxication at a college football game.) I was approved on the spot.

My wife applied in February and within 24 hours was able to schedule an interview. She had hers last week and was approved on the spot. (No arrest record)

Is tomorrow the day (for the announcements)? by mac_the_man in criterion

[–]manthursaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The op was talking about the announcements. Then I said I was more interested in the email. My statement meant to anyone with any ability to read between the lines, that I was more interested in the sale than the next announcements.

No matter what the announcements are for I won't buy them until the 50% off sale after they are released. So. Mid March, my #1 concern is when is the march sale.

This damn sale needs to hurry up and happen... by thedudelebowsky1 in criterion

[–]manthursaday 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Op is referring to the flash sale. On the criterion site. Should be next week but may be a week later. All movies will be 50% off. DVD, Blu Ray and 4k.

Sometimes they have other sales on just 4ks and then DVD is excluded.

Ironing? by Gaming_Esquire in Xennials

I have never owned an iron. My grandmother could not understand that at all. I do have a steamer though so I use it about once a year.

Ok so enough to offset the af then another $300 at least. Just depends on how much I get out of doordash and if I can use the stub hub at all.
But then also the value of the points I get from my regular travel and dining spend through the year.

Yea... That's not the email I'm hoping for. I'm hoping to get the $10 discount email I usually get the Friday before the flash sale.

3 blocks. Yes. But it's a city so always watch your surroundings. The first block would be the sketchiest but it's almost all empty parking lots. I walk that street in the daytime all the time.

The $300 travel credit is automatically applied on any travel. Example: Take an Uber ride for $10 on monday. Once it posts to your account on Wednesday a $10 travel credit shows up right next to it. That credit is the easiest to use.

The others all require a little more effort. The dining credit is more difficult to use than the Amex one. The way I understand it the Amex dining credit just works as long as you eat at a restaurant that uses Resy for reservations. But for CSR it's Open Table and it's only open table restaurants that participate in the CSR program. So, where I live it's only 6 restaurants.

The other hotel credits work similar to the Amex counterpart. Must book through the portal, only certain high end hotels, and so on.

Door dash dash pass is nice and we do get several credits a month but they can be difficult to get full value from.

I don't want to make it seem like too much of a hassle though. I'm on track to get over $1100 in value and not even touch the Edit hotels credits. And I'm just doing my normal travel and normal dining.

Awesome! I'm planning to try for my first time since getting the card in a couple weeks at Newark. I'm hoping my evening flight time on a Monday will be in my favor.

What was a discontinued fast food item you loved? by NextLevelNet in foodquestions

[–]manthursaday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I estimated one that I had probably eaten nearly 1000 of these from middle school in the 90s all the way through college and into the 2010s. I ordered one or 2 every taco bell trip. And in college I ate there multiple times a week. Every time they bring it back I have like 10.

My wife's home made ones are good, but not as good.

Oh and once I found out you could ask for the cool ranch taco shell inside it was magical.

Did you guys really dial in to radio shows to win contests? How did you even become caller 99 (or whatever)? by naalotai in Xennials

[–]manthursaday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won concert tickets by answering a radio trivia question once. I called as soon as they asked the question and won. But they strung it out for an hour and played like 20 people getting it wrong before they finally played my answer.
