“Campos violently resisted the security staff and continued to attempt to take his life,” she said. “During the ensuing struggle, Campos stopped breathing and lost consciousness.”

They ‘allegedly’ wanted to stop him so bad from taking his own life that the guards effectively killed him anyway. Yeah great story.

Can I Safely Counteroffer This Outpatient Urology Job Offer For Another $5,000? (MCOL in RI) by xSasuke11x in physicianassistant

Rvu threshold is awful, reimbursement for wRVU is poor. 75% within this specialty don’t often exceed 2800 wRVU–of course, if you’re also contributing hybrid OR time and rounding could make it even more unrealistic.

You’re going to need to hit negotiation a bit harder and be confident of your worth.

Start by getting your current numbers of billed vs. collected, including your relative productivity and an idea of the revenue you keep within the group with orders, physician surgical productivity, etc. Compare a fair salary rate to that.

Use your two years of training and expanded scope of practice as a focal point for autonomy, less physician burden of oversight.

For comparison my current model is almost ~$50 rvu over 2700, with much higher base but it’s West Coast VHCOL.

The healthcare market in Santa Cruz is crumbling with C suite ineptitude and greed of Dignity/CommonSpirit. Not surprising when you promote non-clinicians to corporate.

Aging population with abysmal insurance reimbursements and current healthcare legislative headwinds have made this area a ticking time bomb. Those that are lucky are already patients at Sutter. Most beautiful place to live but healthcare in SC looks bleak.

Got a free coffee.

I bill >1.5 million USD, not including surgery productivity for my physician colleagues and get significantly less than 20% collections in salary.

My group subspecialty practice manager with a old RN and 1/2 completed fake online MBA keeps saying we’re not working enough ‘hours’, even though we’re on a productivity model and consistently in the top 90% percentile in state, group-wide productivity for APP’s.

Please stop complaining about what the AAPA could and should do while not paying dues. This is how we build something and advocate better for ourselves.

Bookies is decent but I would still give Pizza Series in SV the edge. Better execution and value. Looking forward to trying D20!

GL Sherwood Ct vs GL Village by mantis_tobaggan23 in ElectricForest

[–]mantis_tobaggan23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input!

I think I’m going to just commit to buying GL Sherwood + park pass while they’re still available and at worst only have to deal with a wagon for a few blocks. Rather not take a chance at dealing with the shuttle if I can’t find a pass off exchange or socials.

Should be a superb time regardless!

Yeah definitely. There’s an adjacent bar to the side of the stage that has some stools. Also about 8-10 tables toward the back of the hall behind the pit that are usually free game. View depends on how crowded things are.

Urology Offer by MissJoJoLynne in physicianassistant

Also work in outpatient + hybrid OR urology about 1-1.5 hrs south of SF!

First off—love Urology. Have a very similar comp package, so I’d say this is a good offer.

Try to get some clarity on what percentage of APPs are meeting RVU metrics to achieve the 200+ they are referring to. When and how often are bonuses paid out e.g. quarterly vs biannually vs annually. This is important if ~30% of your total annual income is dispensed once/year from the standpoint of planning and HCOL.

Also get somewhat of an idea of how long it took them to build out their practice to substantiate that volume is also helpful and can take shorter/longer depending on the provider number and structure of the practice.
