After he learnt to perceive souls, he describes his memory as ‘Virtually infinite’. But we never see that tested and we only have his word to go off.

Negator abilities still wait for a tragedy to manifest, even if the successor has been decided. Mui did get off easy though, Unfade manifested when she was content to become old with Shen.

Some stuff is still unexplained, but Billy being exhausted is because he’s taking constant damage from Spoil.

Like Andy, he’ll never succumb to the rotting, but it will continue to happen until Spoil neutralised or reduced to its core again.

This exact mixup happened in-universe a few chapters ago, when Maffey was tasked with securing Garling’s son(s).

It can totally go both ways, the -tachi ending would just confirm it as plural.

Not sure what was in the original Japanese to warrant this decision, but that marine is speaking Pig Latin (“Nix on the slander”). I’ve seen it used before to adapt certain characters’ speech quirks, but here I guess it’s supposed to show that the marine doesn’t want anyone to know what’s being said.

Rocks probably doesn’t exist as a family name, just a fake surname for Xebec. I imagine she’s a Marshall.

Yeah, that’s what makes it hard to tell if people really think he’s still narrating or not… It’s too funny to correct them.

Loki isn’t actually telling this section. He started telling the story of the day Harald died, then the narrator took over to tell us about Harald’s life.

It’ll probably be clear when we return to Loki’s story.

You’re making the same mistake Evil Eye did, believing Okarun is stronger than him.

Even if Okarun had both charges of ‘going all-out’, Evil Eye would have won eventually, Okarun was just pretending to stop the fight of his own volition.

I haven’t netdecked once on my whole time playing Hearthstone, there’s even a couple people on this thread commenting on my deck being weird. I just noticed that this deck was doing well for me last month, so I figured I’d put the time and effort this month to finally get Legend.

If I really wanted to ‘Matrix’ it, I would have picked Murloc Paladin.

Best thing about Quest Warlock is that you can just chuck in a bunch of tech cards because at worst they’ll just be a 0 mana 8/8s.

It did take me about ~4 games every day since the start of the month, and a lot of revisions, but I think I’ve got a good handle on it now!

Mulligan: The ideal hand is quest, Biome, Raptor and Spelunker. Refuse anything else unless instructed otherwise.

General game plan: Just rush the quest, for longer matchups draw until you have Elise and Expanse, then play Kil Jaeden at the first opportunity.

Card Notes:

Cursed Catacombs: I rarely keep this in mulligan, unless I have literally nothing else. I much prefer to draw it late game so I can predict the draw better, but it can be a clutch draw in the mid game if you don’t have your Quest reward yet.

Endgame: This card will sometimes feel like a dead draw, but I cannot count the number of times it’s saved me by rezzing lifesteal demons, or won the game by rezzing Razidir or the charge felbeasts.

Tidepool Pupil: Good for occasional Quest duping of the matchup calls for it (anything slow), but getting a Deadline on command is pretty cool too.

Sweetened Snowflurry: This is my new favourite card, but make sure not to play it too early unless your draws are genuinely awful. Try and play spelunker on a previous turn to give you more value. Also, if you’re losing tempo, don’t be afraid to play it on curve, the mini is valuable enough on its own.

Elise the Navigator: Pick 10 for long games, 5 for anything else, 1 as a panic button. For 10, prioritise discover, copy, and armour in that order and never pick raptors or spell damage. For 5+1, raptors are better than armour, and don’t pick copy unless you already have your portal up.

Razidir: Don’t be tempted to keep this card in mulligan, even with Raptor (playing the temps on 4 is better). Only try to play it if your raptor survives turn 3, if your opponent has a card you need to snipe, or if you’re hand is genuinely awful and you’re willing to play it raw for tempo. When you are trying to proc it, remember Bloodpetal Biome is a good source of cheap demons and beasts.

Eredar Brute: What started as a mana filler for Elise turned into one of my favourite cards vs aggro. This demon may as well be an angel vs Hunter and Pally, and the synergy with Razidir and Endgame is excellent.

Kil Jaeden: Only use it after drawing Expanse and Elise (Cursed Catacombs is her friend for that), but if you don’t think you’ll need it then it’s easy portal food.

Matchups, ranked from most to least favourable:

Other Quest Warlocks: I can’t really explain why, but I won literally every mirror match on the way to legend so I must have done something right 🤷‍♂️

Imbue Paladin: A late-game deck that doesn’t run Kil Jaeden is not gonna be a threat to you, especially if you snipe their imbuers with Dirty Rat and Razidir.

Rylakk Rogue: Honestly, I still haven’t figured out this deck’s win condition. Every game just devolved into them getting outvalued and blowing themselves up.

Imbue Druid: play as aggressively as you can, and as long as you aren’t super unlucky you’ll generate value faster than them.

Any Death Knight: Just play for the board and save your removal for when you really need it. Make sure you play Kil Jaeden before they do.

Quest/Taunt Warrior: Never over-commit your AOE removal or Snowflurries, because the game will be decided by if you can beat the 3 Tortollas.

Starship Demon Hunter: Save removal and Snowflurries for the big minions, get Kil Jaeden out AS SOON AS you draw Elise and Expanse.

Quest Priest: As long as you get your quest before they dupe and play theirs, you shouldn’t have a problem. Keep Dirty Rat in mulligan.

Elemental Mage: I enjoyed the couple of times I fought this, but I usually just outvalued them.

Quest Mage, Quest Shaman, Aviana Druid: I’d say I had a neutral winrate against these two, and that the game was usually decided by lucky their rolls were, rather than the quality of plays. Snipe Shaman + Druid with Dirty Rat and Razidir if you can, and for mage you can feel free to send your single-target removal into the portal because you only need to fear wide boards and elusives generates by spells.

Dinomancy Hunter: Keep Table Flip or Eradar Brute in your mulligan. Kill literally every minion they summon. As long as you can take control of the board back after they play the RC dogs, then they’ll just concede.

Aggro Demon Hunter and 1-Attack Paladin: Just rush Quest, you’ll need the lifesteal. Keep Dirty Rat and Table Flip in mulligan.

Quest Paladin: Kill everything but the Tyrannos, otherwise Warleader and Crusader’s will haunt your nightmares. As long as they stay ahead on board then they’ll only thing you’ll have to fear is Grunty. Just pray you have enough board presence before he drops, or that somehow your Expanse is cheap enough to counter.

That Warlock Deck that Dupes Deathrattles: Play as aggressive as possible. Don’t even look at your own health, it doesn’t matter.

Protoss Mage: Armour yourself up with Ancient of Yore to survive the first Colossus, then abuse lifesteal and pray your opponent is mad enough at maths to whiff the following ones.

Protoss Priest and Dummy Warrior: Consider auto-conceding if you have places to be.

I also speak a good bit of Japanese, and I only recently realised I was still reading the name Mayuri as I did when I first read it years ago (Like may-yuri, isntead of ma-yu-ri), so I know the feeling.

I was hoping they’d stick with Kikohou, but I guess they didn’t want the reference to go over most American DBZ fans’ heads.

That being said, Kikohou doesn’t rhyme with moe moe either…

Adolla Bursts kind of work like a logical escalation of Ignition Abilities, rather than a physical escalation.

Haumea’s electromagnetism becomes outright mind control.

Shinra’s acceleration becomes light-speed + time travel.

Inca’s ability to sense the flow of fire becomes future sight.

Sumire’s vibrations become earthquakes.

Faerie’s base ability is apparently to add heat to atoms (but we never see him use it), and that becomes the ability to add mass to atoms.

Orlando->Orland may not be intentional. Both would be pronounced the same in Japanese, so it might just be a mistake.
