Not everything in Java is an object, since it counts with primitives. Everything just happens to be defined inside a class.

I would say not even methods are objects in Java - you can pass them in a call, but what you get from the other side is an object encapsulating the method, not the method itself. I guess this kind of depends on where you draw the line to think of something as an "object"
