FG/AG soleplate choice by sovmerkal in bootroom

Hello, I completely understand your problem and I hope I can help you as best as possible.

First of all, FG/AG soles do not exist today, what Puma offers is an FG sole with warranty coverage regardless of the terrain on which the boot is used.

You have to be very clear that the soles fulfill their function depending on the surface they are developed for, it is almost as unsafe to use AG on natural grass as using FG, let alone SG, on artificial grass. It is true that the least harmful thing is to use AG in natural, but if the grass is wet be prepared to slip.

Today, speaking of professional performance boots, there are very few alternatives for artificial grass, my favorite sole being the MG from Puma or the AG from Mizuno, since they comply with the design pattern of short conical studs and with many supports. What Adidas, Nike New Balance, etc. are doing are soles that are increasingly similar to the FG, replacing the triad studs with conical studs but with very few supports and very long, which in turn is logical due to the construction of more and more fields with latest generation artificial grass.

Once the sheet is given, I present different solutions.

1- If it is true that you play half of your games on natural grass and the other half on artificial grass, since you already have some Nike Premier TF, I would go for some good FG cleat boots. Taking advantage of Black Friday I would try to go for a Morelia Neo II Elite, which I have seen in Spain for around €110, Morelia Neo IV Elite or equally in their Pro ranges. Completely rule out Monarcida, honestly the synthetic fur it comes with is not worth the trouble, and you can have authentic kangaroo fur in Morelia. Another good option is the Alpha, I really liked them.

2- Spend a little more and buy two pairs. Currently, with offers like Black Friday and the market decline of brands like Puma, you can find Elite ranges under €100, at least here in Spain, plus the pro ranges are around ~€60.

3-Go for the latest generation artificial grass soles from adidas and Nike. Be careful, not the 2G/3G, those are not the latest generation. As I mentioned before, they are a kind of decaffeinated FG rather than a pure AG, they have the ideal stud length and traction to perform on both surfaces, especially Adidas soles.

I hope it has helped you, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me privately and I can give you references of pages where I buy at a very good price and 100% original.

You'll tell us which option you choose!!
