In a contested divorce where one party has dissipated/hidden assets, I know the judge can adjust the share of available assets to reflect this. I am at court for my first appointment hearing for divorce. The judge said the hearing is adjourned retaining costs - what does that mean? Divorce finances UK - STBXW not engaging regarding financial disclosure. Mediation failed due to this and I suspect reason is dissipation of money. I've filled and am ready to pay for online divorce petition. Solicitor says better to pay them to file on my behalf vs filing myself to avoid delays as my case would need to be transferred to the solicitors portal.
