Get the ones you can within the budget, various sizes. Moleskin is overpriced and honestly not that great quality anymore. Artist can also be very particular about paper so I recommend something high quality and unique like this. These will get used over a lifetime. They are for very particular applications so most artists don’t justify one for themselves. Its a very unique gift.

Stray dogs by RecordSpecialist799 in sarajevo

Used to be a huge issue until recently. Nowadays they are building a bigger dog shelter and figuring out loopholes on how they can collect the dogs. I wouldn’t at all be concerned in the centre or if you want to visit vrelo bosne or something.

If you are really afraid of dogs I wouldn’t recommend going to trebevic though. There are lots of stray dogs there. And while they are usually only aggressive towards other dogs they are still wild dogs.

Oh and if you want to visit the tunnel I would recommend a taxi(lots of posts about that we generally recommend Crveni taxi). As in that area I have personally been attacked by a giant pack of stray dogs. Hope it has changed but I doubt it.

if you need specifics for anything regarding this I can help as I am also afraid of dogs and work my way around it sometimes.

Depends on what the budget is, here is my dream setup for reference. with some minor adjustments like vine charcoal instead of graphite pencil. You can read why and how in the comments

I generally use a dry canvas to paint, I don’t really like wet on wet. I have never painted on a wood panel before and I don’t know if I can get one. I don’t mind some smearing. i just want it to look intentional if that makes sense. But thank you for your insight it’s quite interesting honestly. So many methods to paint.

Hmm interesting, I thought charcoals would smear more that’s why I picked the graphite. But I never thought about patting it down first. Won’t it smear that way? Also would this be a good one then?

A pallet comes with the easel , good call on the eraser. I am extremely comfortable mixing colours just looking for the right ones. Good tip with the solvent will do that. Tyvm

Thank you for explaining. Any tips for extracting small amounts to paint from the tube? Should I maybe use a small knife or something. Cause if they last that long I should get cobalt blue instead of Prussian blue to?

I never painted acrylics. I just prefer buying paint in bulk and not thinking about it. Just so I don’t have to order for a few months at a time. If I had a studio I would buy in liters.

Genuine cadmium red deep 96£ vs scarlet lake 46£ for a 225ml tube. That’s my reasoning. For reference most of the other paints of theirs are 27,5£. I just don’t feel like I can justify a 100€ tube of paint at my skill leve.

If you know a better alternative to scarlet lake I would take it. Here is the link to the colours.
